Yes I heard the same too. Great news and no doubt a big deal for Team 4.

Any news on whether or not D'Alberto will head over this year?

Will Baird be in the United Video car or does it clash with Porsche duties?

If so, they will need two pilots??

Is Kayne Scott still doing any active driving?

Daniel Gaunt is driving the Inited Video car at Taupo.

Kayne Scott wont be driving a V8ST again this season, entirely his decision due to business commitments, although I am planning on running my Dodge Viper at Pukekohe if he is available that weekend.

Thanks for finding that GHOGH. I heard about this speed comparison just before Puke but had no idea of the results.

I spoke to Richard Moore on the Saturday and asked how he went and all he could tell me was "well, I am pretty happy"....man those shifter karts are insane!

Video of the month for sure. Pity they couldn't of got hold of a TL and/or a TLX as well

Yeah I nearly killed it when I saw Ketzel. Glad I watched it though.
Karts were impressive! Also that WRX is nuts!

Yes I agree the commentary was aimed at 7 year olds.

Maybe that is their target audience?

Still though, cool concept and the results were surprising. I did not think the GSXR600 would have done as well as it did. We all know that in a straight line nothings beats a balls-out bike, but when corners are involved, it all goes out the window....well normally anyway. And frankly I think the ST actually got shown up a little bit in that comparison.

On the Kart front, are the shifter karts the quickest? some may remember those crazy little karts that had full body kits at one of the ST meetings at HD. I have a feeling that their laptimes were not too far off the ST's (happy to be corrected as always though).

A note the TV3....a speed comparison like this does make for good viewing and its gives the punters a real idea of whats what. I wonder if they have ever thought of doing something similar.

Nest speed test should be on gravel....muahahahaha

at least Westy played fair. for a rally driver, the road is often defined as 'between the fences' and there were some big cuts the could have made .

Yeah, the road is indication of the direction to go in

I was not at all surprised at the bikes speed. It's a GSXR1000, not a 600
And Superbike rules allow a few mods.
And whilst they can't corner as well, there relative width compared to the track vs cars gives them more room if you follow what I mean.

Plus Stroud is prob worth 1 sec on his own!

Hi NZSTfan, CRC Motorsport will soon screen a show featuring Andy Booth and other well known Drivers going head to head across several motorsport categories. It is a very good show that you will enjoy.

Cheers
Nigel CRC Motorsport.

Who will partner svg this year?

Yeah.. About that. A test was planned but never went ahead. You'll all know soon enough. But keep fishing for clues if you like.

Taking note of the on going issues of some teams allowed certain things, and others not (Taupo thread) and the draaaag on MSNZ sanctioning.
What if the two are related. To be sanctioned you need all your rules sorted. You can't just change things the week before the event etc. Like has been happening.
Is that what the delay is over?

Could be - although having MSNZ officials doing the policing would hopefully sort out the issues????????????? so let's hope it does happen soon.

Great news Mark, cant wait to hear who it is.

One thing I am concerned about though is the delayed coverage of R4 from Taupo on TV3.

Last sunday when I got back from the racing I locked in the CRC program for sunday as it stated 'BNT V8 SuperTourers, Round 4 coverage from Taupo hosted by Shaun Summerfield'

I thought I should just check that this was still the case and I have concerns that this delayed coverage is not happening this sunday. Now the listing states Round 5 of the NZ Road Race Championship from Taupo.

Is this a typo or are we not getting to see the TV coverage from Taupo?

Nigel, can you shed any light on this?
