GroupOfOne should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Caparo's on hold indefinitely, because of lack of finance unsurprisingly. They hope to get out later in the season.

Triple Eight are involved in F3 with Teamcraft though.

Alfa Fan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

My point, which you seem keen to miss, is that we don't know any announcement is coming. (for sure)

i cant believe a company like 888 who have had huge success are having trouble getting sponsors etc, and funding.

true, but you would think manufacturers would be jumping at the chance of having a team like that behind them but it seems 888 as it was when it was VXRacing is no more and is a much smaller operation now which is huge a shame

I dont think anyone realises just how hard it is for a company to raise £450-800 to run a team for the season. Aon is rumoured to have put £3 million into the focus project (but his son is the main driver)

Absolutely. All their sponsorship has come through Vauxhall!

If they are to announce another BTCC driver, I expect it to be another youngster. Maybe with some touring car experience??

I cannot see it being either Giovanardi or Turkington.

And don't forget, they have mentioned they are looking at going into F3 so this Dean Smith maybe for that team? He has F3 experience..

Hopefully we will know more at Thruxton..

Clutching at straws here - Jonny Adam? Who knows. If he couldn't get in at Motorbase, then I can't see how he'd be able to get in to 888.

Nigel Mansell and The Turk to race for Lada!

Exactly.. Who knows??

Jonny tried to get back into Motorbase, but that was two, maybe three months ago.. Whats to say he doesn't NOW have the money to go racing?

Phil Glew didn't have enough money for Motorbase... He's at 888 Now!

Times change, so do circumstances..

Who knows????

Well as Ian Harrison said they'd "definitely" have two cars on the grid for the opening round and as they didn't announce anything today then they've got to announce something tomorrow. Whether that's Giovanardi, Adam or whoever.

I wonder how much Giovanardi would charge for a one-off, one-round appearance...

Giovanardi does make logical sense in that he doesn't need any testing in a car he already knows, so my punt is that its him or as an outside bet Turkington. Hopefully Gio he can venture down the pit lane and have a word with Dave Pinkney..."what the hell have you done to my car painting it in that awful livery" !!

As for the Mansell/Turkington Lada story I was delighted...until I realised the day.....
