Not manipulated....but not equal. LOL, who cares though its just a bit of fun...but it would only take a new clutch, new set of tyres, a wheel alignment for gods sake...how many times does the car go bush in a big way....and the times would be markedly different from the serivicing. Secret would be to get lucky with your seat time and some servicing

The second difference doesn't surprise me at all. Its just a bit of fun done purely for the entertainment value. Nothing like a GP test session or qualifying.... for goodness sake....

Everything else on Top Gear is scripted/manipulated/false anyway, why should this aspect of the show be any different?
I think the whole peogram just exists to further inflate Jeremy Clarksons already bloated ego anyway!

In all seriousness, that is his thing! Webber doesn't seem like someone who has one of the best jobs a human being could have. Ever since DC left RBR his attitude has been defiant.

As for the Top Gear lap times, just a set of new or different tires changes everything. I think it's also a matter of how much the respective drivers have been trying. In the Vettel Top Gear lap he seems to be in at least 2 different cars, whatever that means. Illegal t-car?

We all assume that 'The Lap' we see on TV is all the one lap, but from what I've been told, they only film one corner at a time, then 'join the bits of film together' to make up a lap.
(Make-up, That wasn't even intentional!)

But surely, forum threads are like a journey?
Sometimes they remain totally focussed on the original route, and never stray away irrespective of what happens. Others evolve into a more interesting stroll, taking up new headings (in a direction type of way) as a result of what's being posted?
Surely we're not in the position where certain sub forums are so elitist where you're only allowed to post if you're wearing a blazer and the appropriate club tie for example, this is a public forum when all said and done...

I think you have to be old enough to have worn a tie at some point to post in the Historics Forum, but that's our only 'club' rule...

Of course its NOT F1, its Top Gear, but it involves a driver and it evolved into a bit of fun. So what's wrong with tongue in cheek or taking the pis...
