Go Asmer Go !!!
Marko has not won a race in 2005.
He has not won a race in 2004 either. In 2003, he won ONE race in Formula Ford. In 3 years of car racing, one victory. Why is this very talented driver struggling so much to make his ... Mark ? Don't give up Marko !!!! |

Lets try this from a different angle...
If a driver doesnt win in 2005, or 2004, and has one win in 2003; why do we assume he is very talented? |

He did not win ONCE in Formula Ford in 2003. In the UK Formula Ford championship he secured two victories at Croft. In the run up to the UK championship season, he raced at Donington in a field comprised of runners in the Southern and Northern Formula Ford Zetec championship, and won both races. Now, if my maths are right, that means he has 4 race wins, not 1. |

Asmer's drives at Croft were very impressive indeed - wasn't just a question of being the guy with the quickest car, he looked very smooth and in control.
I've been a bit disappointed and puzzled by his lack of success since - maybe he was just having his 'day of days'... |

Not sure how ultimately good Asmer is, but this year he's had a lot of problems with budget. He often doesn't know until the Thursday before a race weekend that he'll be driving. That must have a big effect on his psychological approach and also means he's done less testing between races than most of the others. That may also explain his gradual drop off the pace over the season.

It's always a shame when potentially talented drivers are denied by funds. He has been extremely consistent considering....
But you can never tell whether the extra squids would make a difference. It seems to me like the crappy drivers seem to get the best deals! |

Because of his karting record. Next year, should he be racing in Lewis Hamilton's car, he could win half the races... |

I dunno what he's upto next year. I forgot to ask him when I last saw him, hopefully I'll have a chat with him soon - if not, I'll keep both my eyes and ears open for any news.

...which is sad. Marko is a very talented and committed driver. In 2004 the Renault engine in the Hitech held the whole team back, and in 2005, come on! He was frequently on the podium and finished 4th in the British F3 championship! In 2005 he only finished behind his teammate (FBMW champ Tim Bridgman) once. He clearly is talented. |
