DNQ should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Formula Holden Champions

Obviously this is a touring car forum, but I have decided to post this question here, as I am sure there will be far more Aussies here that are able to answer my question than over on the junior forum.

I am compiling a list of Formula Holden Champions, but I am unable to find the type of cars used of the 1995-1999 Champions. Can anyone help?

1989 Rohan Onslow Ralt R20
1990 Simon Kane Ralt R20
1991 Mark Skaife SPA 003
1992 Mark Skaife SPA 003
1993 Mark Skaife Lola T91/50
1994 Paul Stokell Reynard 91D
1995 Paul Stokell ?
1996 Paul Stokell ?
1997 Jason Bright ?
1998 Scott Dixon ?
1999 Simon Wills Reynard 94D (?)
2000 Simon Wills Reynard 94D

Also, does anyone know if the 1989 champion, Rohan Onslow drove in British F3000? I vaguely remember him doing so.

1995 Paul Stokell ?
1996 Paul Stokell ?
1997 Jason Bright ?
- I have a feeling they all drove 92 Reynards.
1998 Scott Dixon ?
-His car is the ex-Barganna car, later to be driven by Tim Leahey, I know I've seen it around lately, just not sure who drove it, and what car it was. (Fairly sure it was a 92 Reynard too).

I think Onslow might well have had a bit of an F3000 go, as did Skaife and Crompton.

A bit of a correction to what I had earlier, Stokell was in fact driving a 91D in 1995 as well as 1994. I can also safely say that Dixon raced a 92 in 98. One last thing, Wills would have been driving a 94 in 99.

OK, I have found out all the car makes - thanks to everyone who helped. But can anyone help me identify the teams the champions drove for. This has proved much harder to work out. SO far, I have got this

1989 Rohan Onslow
1990 Simon Kane
1991 Mark Skaife
1992 Mark Skaife
1993 Mark Skaife
1994 Paul Stokell Birrana Racing (?)
1995 Paul Stokell Birrana Racing (?)
1996 Paul Stokell Birrana Racing
1997 Jason Bright ?
1998 Scott Dixon ?
1999 Simon Wills Birrana Racing
2000 Simon Wills Birrana Racing

Stokell alsop drove for Birrana Racing in 1995/96, and they also prepared Bright's car in 97. I believe Dixon drove for a team called SH Racing, and I'm farily certain Mark Skaife's cars were prepared by Gibson.

Thanks a lot Crash Test, and the others who responded to this thread. Finding out info like this can be tough at times, and it is great when I can get some help! Thanks again. You all deserve a smiley face:

yep Skaife's car was run by the fred Gibson team and i belive that Jason Bright was also part of the Biranna team and Scott Dixon may have been either Chris Hockings team or the Ralt Australia team..but im not to sure on that one.

as for Simon Kane and Rohan Onslow ..not sure but I believe that they ran the teams themselves.

I think the SH in SH Racing stands for Simon Hardwidge (spelling?). After a wee bit of research, in 1989 Onslow was entered un R.J. Macarthur Onslow, so I think Marcus was right, and also in 89 Simon Kane was entered by Clive Kane Photography. On thing of note though, he drove a Ralt RT21 in 89, did he race an RT20 in 1990??

I think Dixon did run with SH Racing.

A bit off the topic, I heard that apparently the NZ Grand Prix and Denny Hulme memorial races as part of the Tasman Cup are not to be raced by Formula Holdens this year ,but are to be included in the NZ Formula Ford championship. THe races are still listed at the FH site, has anyone heard anything about this?
