The 2004 World drivers champion!

With the Australian Grand Prix just around the corner and, therefore, the start of yet another season, I thought I'd start this poll up to gauge our boards final predictions for this years drivers championship.

All the car launches are out of the way and we know the performance of each car in a pre season testing, sandbagging, vague kind of way.

We know the drivers capabilities pretty well. So who will be the 2004 Formula One world drivers champion?

Now as there are only 10 poll options, I've limited this poll to the top five teams of drivers in the "winter championships". Unless the mods can add the other 10 drivers with their trickery, it'll have to do. No-one was going to vote for Baumgartner anyways.

I'll kick it off by voting for.....Fernando Alonso. Before January I would have said Raikkonen or Montoya, but I have a hunch (probably another one of those very, very wrong hunches.)

Happy voting people! Hopefully we can bring this thread up in October and see how well we all did!

Enjoy the season!

This will show nothing but who has more fans - do you really think I'd vote for Schumacher even if I'd knew he is gonna win?

I'm a Montoya and Alonso fan, and I didn't vote for them.

Its like putting some kind of malediction on them!

Go Coulthard!

If the cars and tyres are near enough matched - then Schumi,

Well, i'm not a Schumacher fan, but i would vote for him, or JPM or Kimi.

For the first time in ages, i can honestly say that i don't know who will win it. I don't go with the skeptics that say that Williams won't help JPM, and if Williams sort themselves out, for me he's the 1 out of the Williams boys that will get the job done.

If McLaren sort themselves out, Kimi will do it.

If Ferrari do the biz then Michael will win it.

Sod it, as i'm a jinx, therefore, that means i can't vote for a driver i support i'll vote Michael

You're right V, this season is genuinely unpredictable. Who will win in Melbourne? We really don't know!

As much as I'd love to say Raikkonen, Montoya or Alonso, Schumacher will probably do it again.

Thats the thing tho DownFOrce, for the first time in seasons thats not 100%, and the Ferrari, again for the first time in seasons, doesn't look miles faster than everything else.

I am so looking forward to this season

MS Melbourne is a complete lottery I couldnt possible guess who is going to win there, but I do think MS could still be hard to beat this year - BUT I see it touch and go, nothing between them - less than two weeks to go, I cant wait

MS, but way more doubtfully than in the last few years.
Having several competitors will help him because they will take points away from one another.
IN any case, reliability will be of paramaount importance.

Now now hamsmith, let's not go nuts!

This goes for you too Marky boy - thinking about it logically, how exactly to you assume Ralfy is going to finish number 3 in the WDC?? He's been soundly beaten for two and a half seasons by, not only his team mate, but the leading drivers from 2 other teams as well. This year he also has the added worry of not knowing where he's gonna be driving in 12 months time. Sorry guys, but it ain't gonna happen.

Its Michael again. He's simply the total package. He's got all the ingredients it takes to be the WDC.

All the others are missing one or two.
