Old Blue prints

THis is an odd conundrum . . . .

Some years ago I bought some Wilment memorabilia from Duncan, Jeffs son. a few cartoons, a painting and a nice big framed photo from Jeffs office of the first Wilment GT Cortina at Brands. I also bought a massive stack of blue prints . . . just because, as a trained draughtsman ( 30 odd years ago) I like drawings. Most of them are un exciting 'Race proved' parts for some of Jeffs cars and conversions, alongside std Ford stuff used as reference, but there are also some very obscure and interesting things . . . . what should I do with them ? There are a few bits I wouldn't want to get int o the wrong hands . . . . if that makes any sense! a good example being the attached photo . . . . drawings inside date from 1963 . . . I also have for example, all 6 sheets for a 1500 Ford/Lotus block.

they've been in an over flowing cupboard with all my other car porn for 15 years . . . and its time for a clear out . . .

would the FIA or MUK want to keep the pre-65 stuff in support of homologation forms?

I'd think that at the very least, all the documentation needs to be scanned, to enable it to be saved for posterity....

Quite a bit of it I have scanned/photographed. The Harry Mundy Letter and associated drawings are probably the most significant. the 16v cylinder head predates the Cosworth head to my knowledge. I have no idea if they ever even made one, it would certainly have performed well. You only have to look at virtually every production car now for a reference.

Quite a lot of Savage/Uren stuff like V6 rocker covers . . .also loads of unexciting bits like brackets for Transit Uren Conversions . . .I doubt if a real one even exists any more.

I'm rather disappointed with this thread! When I saw 'Blue Prints' I imagined something a little more raunchy than a load of old blueprints.

Disappointed of Luton.

Sadly, I would suggest the worst folks to entrust these important documents to, would be MSUK. I think they tolerate rather than promote historics and as such see the entire discipline as a rectal irritation. I'm still trying to get them to send my new MGB HTP which was approved months ago. Apparently the historic team are on furlough which in their terms means there's nobody to the do their jobs.

I have much more faith in Louis and his colleagues.

I wouldn't sell the drawings to MSUK It's probably be better to burn them.

I'm more inclined to give them the Louis.
