SuperGT cars and chassis
Maybe one for the Samuri
But with all the talk of DTM tie ins and the pictures from the Nismo festival, Do SuperGT cars retain anything from their road going cousins? I was always under the impression that the Main monocoque/passenger compartment of the car was to remain the same, however in front of the this and behind were free for modification??!!?!? Now looking at this photo, it appears the chassis is totally space framed? Is this correct?

Tube frame front/rear clips tie into the roll cage that's built into the unitbody.
But I did read somewhere on this site that the current cars are allowed to use carbon monocoques like DTM cars. |

In S-GT, if A-pillar and roof of the base vehicle are maintained, it is possible to make it to the full carbon monocoque.
The carbon monocoque of S-GT has the shape of the bathtub, so the roof is supported with roll cage. Front and rear of the monocoque are tubular frames since 2003. what i´d really like to find is some scans of the japanese autosport article reviewing the end of the nsx in supergt and its tech features.
i´ve been searching everywhere and come up with nothing |

I thought I read in an article (endurance info?) that it is indeed the the HPD/Acura LMP2 engine. I could as well have dreamed that though.

NSX used a stock block 3.4 V6, the HSV has the Acura LMP2 3.4 V8.
