That doesn't surpise me..

Had a look at the regs.. woudl appear that anything goes! Could be some extremly fast cars out there - if the series gets going. Shall report back from Combe.

I'm going as well...could be doing the pics for Autosport? I heard that as well (handfull of entries)and one driver told me at Silverstone that he has dropped out! I reckon the SEMSEC/Lydden "anything goes Mini Championship" will get loads more entries. For more top Mini action sugest you get your butts up to Mallory on next Sunday!

I can see it doing pretty much the same as the Mighty Minis. Small grids but good racing at the start, with a larger number of cars later this season and next.

But Super Mightys haven't taken off really.

And talking of poor entries for new series - two out in the Focus Cuo at Brands this weekend. Fortunately they're sharing grids with the other two Fordie series.

I thought they had about 13 or so? Someone tested a Focus Cup car recently and apparently thought it was slow and not very exciting but should make for close racing! Your right Ian, the Super M'Mini's should have had a load more entries this year but I heard from a M'Mini racer at Silverstone last weekend that it hasn't changed much at all! Also heard that the above Mini driver who had his large van/trailer/tools and race car knicked some time ago found a banger driver at small oval track driving with his crash helmet on still with HIS name on it!!

There are about 16 Super drivers this year, but not all of them are doing all the rounds (some of the cars aren't built yet), so at some circuits (like Mallory) you may see less entries. It'll get better over the course of the season.

I have to admit to being totally pretty ignorant when it comes to racing - what is the order of performance of these mini championships?

My mate is in to minis so we will be there.

From what I understand, they are an 'anything goes' series are'nt they?

I think Xtreme is essentially open to all Minis (including MINIs, I think). The Super Mightys are slightly more modified than the Mightys, which are all but standard 1.3 Minis, so I believe.

If it has a Mini badge (BMW Mini included)and is used for competition (ie it has all the required safety gear then there will almost certainly be a class for it in the championship-Lydden circuit will be running a similar Mini championship this year and I would imagine it will be cheaper to enter!

Castle Combe...Barry Murphy goes into the history books by winning the first Xtrem race...apparently a dozen can be expected soon (how soon is anybodies guess!)
