I have had so much fun in the last few seasons with the BDH, having used many engines over the last 23 years the BD is my favourite. Plus it really upsets all the unlimited saloon brigade when I set FTD overall for Tintops. |

Lovely looking car- could be original- but with perhaps later changes.
Johan- have sent PM to explain! |

The Escort looks great, but I very much doubt it is an original car; the front spoiler and rear are different. Compare with the 1974 version
http://homepage.mac.com/frank_de_jon...Zandvoort.html and the 1975 version http://homepage.mac.com/frank_de_jon...rburgring.html |

The front spoiler looks very Mk2 Zakspeed to me? Nice car though.

There are several detail differences but we know from the blue Finotto / Jolly Club car pics on Frank's site and the car as it is now that changes are made to original cars during subsequent competition, restoration etc. So without knowing or having a close look at the car in question, I'll leave my opinion 'open'.
It is indeed a very good looking Escort, although my personal preference would be for a more original style front spoiler! |

The front arches are not close to a real Zak. Even the rear arches is not the same. I compared the car to the Zak in the German magazine from 1974. This JollyCLub car have same kind of arches as Zak. |

Hi Kevin, that would be great thanks. The cars are from earlier period than Zakspeed cars but none the less interesting for that. I bumped into Henry Mann today and he confirmed that 349F is still in as raced condition, not sure if 346F is also. Would be good to get a chance to have a look underneath one day.

Slighty off topic but plenty of Mk 1's race in Portugal.
Scroll down to the bottom. http://speedhunters.com/archive/2011...-portugal.aspx My first car was mk 1 1600 (or was it an 1100?), always have a soft spot for them! |

I've raced against some of those cars in Portugal and they are very quick- even the 1300s. I think their rules are not strictly period Gp2 hence the 'modern' sponsorship! Cars are mostly very well prepared though, and great to see that in one part of Europe a smaller engined class is popular. Nordic- Perhaps your Escort was a 1600 engined 1100? |

In my mind it was at least a 1600, maybe even an RS. Pretty sure it was only a 1100 in realty.
Did get to own a very nice Nordic Blue Mk2 RS2000 in the late 80's. One of the sadest day in my like when i sold it. EWV 75V where are you! |

Some nice pictures of a car I have not heard much about before. A Mk1 Broadspeed Escort. |

Hmmmm. Is this a genuine Broadspeed car or just a Broadspeed shell? What is the history of the car and previous ownwers/drivers? Is there an Irish connection? |

As often, nice car but not exactly period specification! Some shell & suspension details point towards Broadspeed work but now far from 1970s Gp2 trim

"Fully billet machined uprights with rotating steel hubs with centre lock nuts." If Broadspeed used billet uprights in 1974/75, Zak might have done the same? |

I am not sure that this is an original 'built by Broadspeed' car. |
