Only a few moments to go before the lights go green.

Unfortunately, for us Aussies, Network Ten won't be showing the race until 11.30pm tonight, so we'll be stuck relying upon live timings to show us what's happening (unless we're down at the Charles Dickens, and I'm not there tonight).

Webber drops back to fourth, Villeneuve gets past Liuzzi, and Montoya falls behind Michael. Albers has stalled on the grid. Safety car is out already.

Sorry, both Minardis failed to start. Heidfeld, helped by the fact that the Minardis failed to get away has climbed five places into twelfth.

Raikkonen early setting a cracking pace - already over 3.5secs ahead of Alonso, who is now 3seconds ahead of Ralf.

Further down the field, Montoya took P7 from Michael a few laps ago, and Heidfeld is turning the screws up on JV for 11th place.

Friesacher is back out, haven't seen Albers yet.

Liuzzi spins off into the gravel and retirement. Webber is very close to Ralf, but will probably find it difficult to pass the Toyota.

JV is losing time hand over fist in the second sector, judging by the times on live timing. He was closing the gap to Massa at one stage, but it's blown out to 4 seconds (best part of) and Heidfeld is only 1.1 seconds behind him.

Thirteen laps in to the race, and Kimi is blitzing the field to date, enjoying a lead of 9.7 seconds over Alonso, with Ralf 3.6 seconds behind the Spaniard. Not an enjoyable race for the home fans just yet, with the McLaren looking fast.

Live timing has Liuzzi as retired,but the lap chart shows it as Karthikeyan who has stopped.

Kimi out to be the best part of a 20 second lead over Alonso, after 20 laps. Ralf trails Alonso by just 0.4 seconds.

Alonso is beginning to seriously hold up those behind him, being Ralf and Jarno, with Fisico just 3.5 seconds behind Jarno.

Kimi is scampering - 24.7 seconds back to Alonso.

Flemish commentary has yet to notice that Fisichella came out in front of Alonso after his stop.
