Turkington really couldn’t have hoped for much more on this bogey circuit, with his two main title contenders behind him. They will probably try to survive the first race, before shedding the weight for race 2, although I can see someone like AJ or Sonic sneaking back into the title hunt if they play their cards right

Tordoff, great job, and well done Ricky too. What about Bushell though, kept letting himself down with track limits and as a result only 15th, when he should have been higher. And that red flag has to be one of the most pointless ever

Now if Colin was Ayrton Senna... a vision of Suzuka entered my mind. Though Colin is no bloody minded Senna, thankfully!

He was making very little effort to stay within the white lines. He cut Woodcote every time, and whilst that isn't a place that track limits is generally policed, the cut was so bad it'd probably attract some attention anyway. Overall, just not very smart driving.

Although they do share the same birthday and both won the championship for WSR...

neither Tordoff or Collard won this season so we may get a 15th race winner

Well done Turkington on just winning the title, superlative performance.

When will Brett Smith learn how to look after the tyres?

Motorbase finally broke the bad luck

shame for Jordan, his title hopes are over

naughty move by Sutton on the Ford

Turks leads by 50 points now !!! if he survives race 2 in top 8 and gets a lucky reverse grid he might win the title today !!

problem is hard tire for race 2

Not looking so good for Ingram now - but if he can get a podium from 27th surely he can challenge for a win from 15th..!

Tom Chilton is now only 1 point behind Sutton in 4th...

Must say it was satisfying to see Plato's bonnet pop up though!

Kinda felt like that was disappointing. Sutton took a leaf out of JPs book and started hitting things, which was disappointing. Ingram getting points with a hard tyre was impressive but kinda feel like it robbed us of a good drive. As Evantra says, might be worth trying a year without the hard option to see what happens.

I'm always amazed at Tingrams positive outlook. He's such a nice guy. I don't really have a favourite in BTCC but it's hard to not pull for Tom.

I don't give a monkeys if it's down to the wire or not
Neil Hudson wrote a very good piece earlier in the week about this attitude of keeping everything close and level all the time and why can't we just accept one driver is better than the others.

Back of the grid for Mike Bushell, I think for causing the Austin-Neal incident, so doesn't look like HARD will be getting the result they wanted. Smiley also recieved his 3rd strike.

Apparently something was left under his car which went through the floor. Once again, BMR costing Ash a strong points finish.

He's now starting from the back so pretty much going to be out of it.

The amount of "assists" this weekend has been a bit much. Tim keeps calling them "great moves".
