Kerr1992 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
New trainee :-D

Hi Guys.

Just thought I would drop an email to introduce myself. I took the leap yesterday and finally got myself up to the circuit to have my first shot at marshalling. As I enjoyed it so much I have sent away my required forms and I guess I am now a trainee! :-D

I have been interested in motorsport for a good part of my life. Mainly touring car style stuff and bikes. Not a fan of single seater racing. I felt more involved as a marshal than I did as a spectator so I'm now looking forward to the next race meet!

Thanks
Craig

Hi Craig!
Glad you've managed to figure out all the forms/endorsements/whatchamacallits! What're your local circuits?

Hello Craig

I'm in my second year and have just upgraded from Trainee.
Good luck with your training there are lots of experienced Marshalls that are more than happy to pass on their knowledge to you.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the responses :-)

My local circuit is Knockhill and the club I'm going to be marshalling with is the Scottish Motor Racing Club. In the future I would love to do some of the bigger events but I'm in no hurry. at 21 I have plenty of time :-)

Hiya

I am in my 8th year now and just love it, i don't follow the touring cars even though i love them but try to do a few new circuits every year where they are.
I will be going to Knockhill to marshal with my friend next weekend so we might see you there

Only ever done Knockhill once - 1992 and Touring Cars. "Och - its only a shower" - well it rained throughout!

Welcome to our merry band and do try to get to other circuits, not least because that way you get to meet us all.

Show off! Makes my 24 years look humble.

Seriously, everyone has to start out. I hope that Craig is posting on here about his 40 years as man and boy in orange in 2053. I will look forward to reading it....

I would like to point out that all women are only "as old as they feel" and in most cases that is about 25 years. (Well it is in my case.)

So in April I will only be half my age - hurrah!

That makes you 125 (never worked for VAT so no idea what the rate is) if you are using the "female" rate.

As the biblical life span is quoted as "three score years and ten" - ie 70 - I decided to start counting backwards when I got to 35. That means I'm now somewhere in my teens, and should get back into my childhood in time to retire.
