and now the fight begins as you realise how many friends you didn't have before, begging for the spare tickets. any ideas how you choose who to invite and who not too.

I've not had mine but then I've not volunteered, however, I'm off to do something interesting that weekend - I'm marshalling at Aintree for the Aintree motorbike club so I may see some bikes jump the Grand National fences or at least get to see some of the famous fences.

PS Thanx for the info for everyone else I'll be playing spot the marshal.............

I've emailed the MSA to explain I haven't actually volunteered for this and will post the card back on Monday.

May do a different meeting on the same day though!

Got my invite today, will be wagging flags somewhere. Couldnt help noticing one thing that symbolises the whole affair, I enjoy the GP, despite all the hanging around and being on post what seems to be hours before we are needed, and would happily do it without the Fiver a day, but then you notice that you have to put your own stamp on the invite return, for gawds sake I know its only 20 odd pee, but it annoys the hell out of me!

Well, the BRDC hadn't sent it to the MSA it would appear, so I'm glad I checked! Anyone else not had their form forwarded?

I was on Copse out for my first year (flagging), and was at Chapel (Exit of Becketts) the year after, so that should work out right for you if the rotation works. Working on the rotation theory, I'm hoping for somewhere around Woodcote & the Minardi end (or Ferrari end at the moment ) of the grid this year, but might only get as far as Brooklands/Luffield (Rotation so far: 2001 Copse-2002 Chapel-2003 Club-2004 Farm-2005 ???)

Al.

Mike Kelly 1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Everyone I know that volunteered got their cards on Saturday or Monday. When I didn't get mine today I rang the MSA only to find that they had not received an application from me to marshal at the GP! I only sent it back to my club last September They suggested that I download a form and send it in and they would consider it!! Oh well, theres always a two day 750 meeting at Pembrey that weekend.

The MSA haven't had my form either and I gave it personally to the club that was recommending me. Chris is being very helpful and I have my fingers crossed that I will be accepted if not it will be a two day meeting at Brands for me.

I don't think you have any worries Claire. Just get the form in and all should be ok.

It's Pembrey for me, and you still get to see the Red Arrows perform over the circuit, just a lot closer to you than at Silverstone.

Got mine today as well. All the volunteering forms that the BRSCC SE sent got lost somewhere within the MSA. Its only thanks to the sterling work of Mildred Wiltshire (BRSCC SE Marshals secretary) who chased the matter up with numerous calls, e mails and faxes to the MSA, that those who volunteered via the BRSCC SE (myself included) have now received their invites. I probably speak for all of us, but a great vote of thanks go to Mildred for sorting this out for us . As i gathered from the GP secretary at the MSA the paperwork somehow got lost in the internal system. You never know, we may be the first people to get our invites for the 2006 GP!

I have now closed the list I am sending to the MSA and have sent e-mails to all those whose submissions I am passing on.

May I wish everyone an enjoyable time at the GP, and a safe season.

See you on the circuits

I think Mildred has done some sterling work for the BRSCC but don't forget Chief Marshal Peter Scillitoe who also works tirelessly!

Incidently, not all the BRSCC SE forms were lost as I got my invitation over a month ago. It seems it was just one batch.
