I had a quick browse through the thread and did not see this article of the Egal and its history mentioned, so here is a link.
https://www.pressreader.com/uk/motor...83278867103728

There is also another amusing tale from Whizzo told in the article.

It is dated August 2016 so nothing current, but it does mention the car being in the Eastern US undergoing comprehensive restoration... I presume that is the work outlined by ' Charlie' earlier in the thread.

Alfie72 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
On a search job for another forum, I came across a grid shot from Silverstone, Oct 1967. Not a very good one, but an interesting comment re Whizzo and the Egal.

Apparently he went off when the door flew open!

If I could work out how to put up a photo I would!!

Just a quick up-date
The E-Gal is now back in the UK. Chris Keith-Lucas is now the proud owner, he also owns CKL Developments.
It was at its second home a couple of weekends ago, Shelsley Walsh. There was a 60th anniversary meeting. I have some photo's and a couple of video's that I'll up load later

It's been a while since any posts on this topic, but just in case anyone is still interested, here is a photo I took of the Egal at the MAC race meeting at Silverstone on 30 March 1968. Driver listed as Geoff Richardson.

Would that be the engine builder Geoff Richardson?
