Channel Nine's excuse for an Australian-made program that fulfills it's legal obligation to produce a certain amount of local programming during certain time-periods.

I've got that Winton Australian Manufacturers Championship round on tape somewhere, i'll have to dig it out. From memory the race was red-flagged due to that crash between Morris and Longhurst, leaving englishman James Kaye up in arms as the track was clear.....
EDIT - must have been red-flagged, BMW won every race of the 1994 series. |

Was red-flagged on lap 23 with the results being declared as at the completion of lap 21 (the race distance was 23 laps). The 'official' results gave the win to Longhurst ahead of Morris by 0.0364 seconds. The race was Round 3, Race 2 of the 1994 Valvoline Australian Manufacturers Championship with the other runners, in finishing order, being Kaye, Ellery, Blanchard, Ward, Doulman and Matthews. Bob Holden was a DNF and Cotter and Adderton both listed as DNS's.
Interestingly, in that race, Kaye was the quickest driver on the track by just 0.0588 of a second from Longhurst. Race date was June 19th, 1994. |
