ZANDVOORT HISTORIC GP

Usually well supported by spectators, with easy access from Amsterdam. Gets very busy!

Will include Masters grids from UK, and MRL Pre War Sports Cars. Off the FJHRA calendar for 2017....

French historic racer David Ferrer won't be familiar to many on here, but he has been a regular competitor in Peter Auto meetings since I have been involved in them, and has also competed in Masters series races.

The accident was on the first lap of the Saturday HF1 race, and it appears David's March 701 left the circuit on the corner before the pit straight. The resultant impact speared the car, now in three pieces, back into the middle of the track. As stated above, he was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition.

Latest report from Masters received this morning suggests he was in 'a critical condition', but without knowing when that bulletin was issued, it's impossible to say whether that is still the current status.

In the meantime, I'm sure we all wish David the best for recovery.

I echo your sentiments for his recovery.
I saw some photos on YouTube and it looks as if it must have been a very violent impact.
