The VW Gol NF has been unveiled and the Fiat Punto is being developed. The Ford Fiesta, Chevrolet Agile y Fiat Palio are also thought to be added. The goal is to involve "local" brands (those plus the French) in rallying in Argentina and Brazil with cheap, locally-produced cars with bodies of best-selling cars (the Lancer and Impreza are barely sold there). The engine would be a spec inline-4 Honda 2.4L 280hp, hi-revving like S2000s and unlike old-school Lancer and Impreza N4s. Four-wheel drive of course, the gearbox a sequential six-speed and several Subaru pieces (Barattero represents the Pleiades in Argentina). |
