Half Truth, yes next year WEC will have more manufacturers involved than ever did in the past, but 2015-2017 was some kind of golden age. Only f1 cars were quicker than old lmp1-h those days.

Bovy and Gatting miss out on Spa due to a positive covid test. To be replaced by Christina Nielsen and Doriane Pin.

Doesn't seem right that Christina is a Bronze these days. Also interested to see how Pin gets on.

Those cars are still quick despite being slowed! I think it was like this at Sebring too, and it was a non-factor in the race.

well toyotas need to find 6 seconds to match last year pole laptime, guess there are at least 4 points where the new min. speed for AWD hits bad: la source, les combes, campus and bus chicane

Yeah. Again, and if nothing else, the stint length will prevail.

Nice that the LMP2s won’t be that far behind.

My mate at the track says that Spa looks and feels different. Especially near the pits and looking towards the run down to Eau Rouge. He seemed a bit down by it. That was before the cars hit the track, so hopefully that will lift his spirits. Although looking at the times of the Hypercars maybe not!

Looking at some of the pictures it does look a bit gloomy, but the new grandstand at Raidillon looks promising, if soulless.

They need to finish it and stuff needs to grow back and weather a little.

Yep, quite entertaining. How many endurance races have we seen where 2 gt's battle to the line after 6/12 or even 24 hours, always thrilling finishes.

For now. But they are close enough that, assuming the BoP swings back to Alpine/Glickenhaus slightly, Toyota need to run near-flawlessly, which they've rarely (ever?) managed to do with their hypercars so far.

DSC had a little race recap and mentioned that before this season, the last time a Toyota had a DNF was 2017.

It was interesting to see how the cars hypercars performed in the wet, previous iterations of the top class saw the 4wd providing a significant advantage in the wet. Changes to tire size and hybrid deployment seemed to hamper the toyotas quite a bit. I thought there was a chance the heavier weights of the cars would have improved wet performance slightly but i guess not.

Both the Hypercar have seemed inconsistent since we the category was introduced. Not just with the weather either. However it does look like Toyota is impacted more with the weather at the moment.

Although I see in the Le Mans weather thread it will be dry all the time!
