If you are bothered about an answer for this particular teaser simply Google Williams Ferrari driver. I did.

Trying to figure out what the question setter was looking for?
Or trying to find an alternative answer that fits the clue?

Both methods elicit an outcome.

Only one of these meets the criteria of the puzzle. I suppose it does not matter if the answers are posted on the open forum, as they are mostly wrong any way
Have an other go. few do.

Malcolm, I am obviously using a different 'Top Ten' source, in any event only one o0f your answers fits 'my version'. It is quite likely that your selection makes perfect sense using a different list.

This is mine, so try again?

Peter, I assumed you were referring to the earlier post showing Robs, at the GP

I was not correcting you. I'm far to nice to do that.

Aah - I see the difference.

I blame the question setting. You are looking for a song that is in the Top Ten of those years, not a song that was a Top Ten from those years.

1- "Lola", The Kinks - #2 in the UK
2- "Snoopy vs. the Red Baron", The Hotshots - #4 in the UK
3- "The Pushbike Song", The Mixtures - #2 in the UK
4- "Something's Burning", Kenny Rogers and The First Edition - #8 in the UK
5- "Which Way You Goin' Billy?", The Poppy Family - #7 in the UK
6- "Don't Let It Die", Hurricane Smith - #2 in the UK

You can blame who you like, you still only got one right

The correct official answers are;

She - Charles Aznavour 8th. 1974

Spirit in he Sky- Norman Greenbaum 7th 1970.

The Pushbike Song - Mixtures 6th. 1971

When Will I See You again - Three Degrees 4th. 1974

Leader of the Gang - Gary Glitter 8th 1973.

Eye Level - Simon Park Orchestra 2nd 1973.

Love the She song but nothing obvious… I thought the Camaro picture could be Femme like you by K.Maro. Or more likely Lève le capot qu'on voit l'moteur by Les Compagnons de la chanson. Or was it Charles Trèsnet? Mireille Mathieu may be? WTF!
