2016 Pirelli World Challenge Round 5: Long Beach

After a lengthy break following St Pete, the Pirelli World Challenge will hit the streets of Long Beach. Last year's race was a mess, hopefully it runs clean this time around.
It's just GT and GTA running at Long Beach, with the latter class including an extra Scuderia Corsa Ferrari for Bill Sweedler in a one off appearance, and a GMG Audi for Brent Holden.

Of note, it looks like there won't be streaming for this round, as the race is being broadcast live on CBS Sports (Sunday, April 17th 2PM ET). For those of us who don't have that channel, there's still T&S and social media.

Since when was Kyle Marcelli in the new Audi? I though he was still running the LMS Ultra.
Also, there was live steaming for rounds 1 and 2, maybe that's only in the UK.

AFAIK CRP Racing is still running the "ultra". Just a mistake on the entry list to not say "ultra". Same thing with the GMG Racing #44 for Brent Holden. It is also an "ultra". The only 2016 running part-time this year is M1GT's LMS, which will be at Barber Motorsports Park in two weeks!

CRP is also looking at the new Audi, but when I spoke to Nick Short at COTA, he's not completely sold on the new Audi - he wants something with a little more torque. Great car for European circuits, less great for many American tracks. Still early, but maybe another manufacturer falls into the CRP garage later in the year

Interesting. A return to Nissan perhaps?

Viper might be a good choice. Would allow them to stand out on the grid, it's a proven winner on street circuits and road courses, the builder is in the US for parts/etc, and should have the torque thing handled.

I'm not particularly a Viper fan but I was disappointed to see how few sold and are running.

Huracan wouldn't give them more torque though since it's just an R8 with a different body (slightly disingenuous over-simplification intended).

Interesting that the entry list shows #44 Brent Holden is driving an Audi R8 LMS and the Spotters Guide shows he's driving a Porsche 911 GT3R.

I think James and him were going to share the Porsche for Sprint X and through the season, so maybe this is a one-off round where he's in the old Audi
