M.Lowe should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Old Croft rallycross pics

I have just been looking through a shed load of pics including the ERC race where Schanche put Pallier on his roof to pics of Mad Mark in his 205 Peugeot and other rallycross races there.

I have to admit this had to be the best time of rallycross in the 80's-early 90's

I will try and get some pics scaned later and put up

The red one is Paul Gosling, but the yellow one I'm not sure. I would have guessed at Stu Banks, I think his was yellow, or could it be Mike Sellar?

That looks more like pink then red. Didn't Paul Gosling run a purple Fiesta mk3 and I thought Jason Stone had a blue & yellow Fiesta before he run the Cossie Escort. Stu Banks never heard of him did he only run at Croft ? Obviously we know Mike Sellar.

I went with them to Valkenswaard in the mid 90's. I got chatting to Paul on the dummy grid at Brands Hatch one time and he asked if I'd ever been abroad for rallycross. At the time I hadn't and he was kind enough to take me with his crew on the coach on the next trip they took. Top weekend but was curtailed when Paul went off early on the Saturday and got gravel under the cam belt and bent the valves.

Hope no one minds me hi-jacking this thread, but i've been scanning some old Croft photos from the late eighties. Most are best described as 'reference shots' ie, they're blurred or off centre! I'm no David Bailey...
Let me know if you want to see some more.

One day (yes we all say that) I will get the boxes of pictures I took at Croft out and scan them. Mine start from the mid 1980's and run for about 10 years.

That roped off lane up to the grid certainly brings back memories, looks a lot different now!

I used to be a helper to Terry Wright, spent most of my time photocopying stuff and wandering around the paddock. Oh and playing games by changing the grid print outs from window to window on the old green portacabins - ah happy times!

The Imp was raced by a guy called Ian Beck. I remember Arthur Debanham saying it was the last Imp left in British Rallycross.
I think Tony Proctor's Sierra left the biggest impression on me. Awesome car;

I'm pretty sure he ran down South as well- I'm sure I've got pics of the Mini at either Lydden or Brands in the early/mid-90's- I'll see what I can find
