Tom Cole
As some of you historians may know, Tom Cole raced Allards and Ferraris after the war. He was both enthusiastic and pretty useful as a driver. Although he became regarded as an American driver, where he lived and did much of his racing, he was actually born in Cardiff. He was tragically killed in one of his Ferraris at Le Mans in 1953.
FISCAR are running a tribute race in his memory at VSCC, Spring Start, 23rd April. I have been trying to find out whether there are any living relatives, so far without success, and was wondering whether anyone might know or have contacts. Sorry I can't help John, but I glad to see you remembering Tom, a great enthusiast. This from the programme of the 1952 Goodwood Nine Hour Race.
 Tom with Graham Whitehead finished second in a 2.7 Ltr Ferrari to one of those pesky Aston Martins. This was most upsetting as Graham was one of my heroes back then. Cheers, Bob |

John, I do not know on what basis you select your 'memoriam' events, but I suggest that Cliff Davis as shown in the programme above would be a good choice. Cliff was very much in the forefront of British sports car racing in the '50's with his Cooper MG, Tojeiro Bristol, and Lotus 10.
