Interesting - according to BMMC volunteering site it is BARC, but it is not on the BARC list.

There was a TBC for that weekend on the original BRSCC Midlands form, but it's not there now.

In neither case is there a permit listed on the MSA events calendar, so presumably the paperwork hasn't gone through for any organiser yet.

I was under the impression BRSCC were organising, so I was surprised not to see it on their form.

As far as I am aware the contract to run this event has not been agreed yet. I would suggest that if you want to volunteer before this has been sorted that you volunteer via SMT and they will pass your details on to whoever ends up running this meeting.

I would guess the contact will be sorted within the next few weeks.

Regards

Interestingly Silverstone's website also mentions that:

I'm planning the marshal this for the full weekend/event. I take it marshals will be camping onsite rather than having the walk off site?

That will be public camping. I'm sure that the normal marshals campsite will be available for us to use

So your first event as gaffer is the 24, and second is the WEC. It's all downhill from there!

Hi all,

We still need marshals of all disciplines for this event, particularly flag marshals/post chiefs. If you can spare even a few hours it would be appreciated!

Contact me via PM here or paul[at]brsccmarshals[dot]co[dot]uk. You can also volunteer via the BMMC or www.marshals.org.uk

You are mistaken. He is not the gaffer, he is my PA (aka *itch).

Last time I looked at the entry list, there were 60+ cars. Today, there's 40odd cars. What happened? Anyone know?

I wonder if the original list wasn't technically an entry list (but so advertised) and more of a "teams that have expressed an interest" list?

Don't know for sure though.

Have to agree original list was of teams showing an interest, this I would say apart from late entries will be the official entry list..

42 cars on the current entry list, last year 28 cars started the race.
Given the relatively late announcement of the change to Creventic, and touring cars only, that is not a bad start. I do think it would be better to mark the initial list as 'potential' rather than setting expectations too high.
I have heard good things about Creventic, and look forward to a great weekend. Let's hope the weather is ok and the racing is good.
