Thermal Camera

how cool was the Video shot of Paul Di Resta going round in this shot? probably the most interesting thing to watch in the whole race weekend.

Maybe Paul was thinking about being on You tube during the first lap and that's why he rammed into the back of whoever

Awesome technology though.

Back of Grosjean I think.

For all his fan boys arguments for his ability its going a little pear shaped for him.

It was really interesting.
Amazing how they run the fronts on the absolute inner edge only on the straight.
Would like to see more of these shots, and the back tyres as well!

How odd is it to see Monza in a state akin to Mario Kart "mirror mode"!

Seeing Monza backwards is just creepy...

the thermal cam was great, was interesting to see how the camber resulted in such a small contact patch on the straights, very cool

I fancy it was showing a very superficial surface temperature. I think the temperature effect on tyre performance and degradation probably correlates more closely to the temperature of the full tread depth.

An interesting exercise though. Next up, perhaps they can do a slo-mo of it so that we can see the hot spot of a brake lock-up more clearly.
