Test driver races
I know this is probably never going to happen but by sunday morning, after practise, we and the teams know if a driver is racing that day so since there is now 10 or more test drivers sat around not doing much why not get them some sort of car and let them race - one idea has been put forward quite a bit back by Paul Stoddard to race the two and three seater cars. Buy a ticket get a chance to be in the car? Another idea is just to give them a few older touring cars, again with passengers or maybe old F1 cars with a standard engine in. Be something to enjoy for fans and driver alike on a sunday.

yeah it could be good from a spectators point of view but have it after the WC race.
I sadly don't think the teams would go for it though due to the "expense" plus where would they put all of these cars and other than show, what is in it for the teams? wasn't there supposed to be something in the pipe line for F2 again anyway? |

yes, I think a name change from F3000 to F2.
On topic: I think they should just have more support races. perhaps encouragethe test drivers (and the race F1 drivers) to have a go. However this is not essential, just have a good quality race line up. The F1 racers and testers are too busy doing their day job. On this subject who was the last person to race in the F1 race and another during a GP weekend? |

Adam/Mr Bluesman:I think when Mika did the Porsche Cup, Andretti was the race driver and Mike just the test.
This year Baumgartner started his GP weekend in F3000 and ended it in F1, so unless there were any F3000 supersubs during the 90's, I don't think we have seen a driver doing two races in a GP weekend since the days of ProCar in 79/80. |

That would be a good idea!
I think Mika won the Porsche Supercup race when he drove at Monaco. |

I like the idea of the Two and Three Seater Races
Maybe at the least do it once or twice a year for charity or for raffle winners. Something to do to make F1 look good as opposed to just look spoiled or for money |

I like the 2 seater races. They could all be painted in each teams colors, adding value to sponsorship and it could make a great spectical. The races would most likely have to be staged though, as 'real' racing would be too dangerous.
Still be alot of fun though, especially if you got the ride |

Most countries run Porsche Cup championships (with GT3's). If the Grand Prix organisers (not the teams themselves) borrowed 10 cars from willing donors (with crash damage gauranteed etc), you'd have yourself a race!
A splash of paint and a few stickers later, the cars would be easily identifiable. In fact, Bernie could carry around panels which are already painted to suit the cars, so it would be a quick transformation. It would be quite a spectacle to see the test drivers fight it out in some GT3's. |
