The Heritage Touring Car lot seem a funny crowd as far as communications go
When it was the Group C Association they had a good website which had a very used forum. Was interesting to an outsider to see what was going on. Then they decided to drop the forum as they said it was too much trouble.
When they changed site to Heritage Assoc it seems strange that news such as above is not included.
The Heritage Assoc site is wonderfully up to date, the last news included was August 2013. Mind you that is better than the Formula Junior site where last newsletter is Autumn 2013, ie almost a year ago.
Or the Touring Car Masters where the regulations shown are for 2010, and I was trying to find why Porsches had become competitive in 2013.
I just wonder why these sites exist if not maintained, and why their latest news is on forums such as this?

David
I am puzzled!
Why are these details not on the association's website
Wouldn't that be the place that one would expect to look.
Why use the vhrr site
http:/www.heritage touringcars.com.au

The last news on that site is August 2013
Is the association dieing/dead. Lack of support?

Is there dissension in the ranks of the association?

The Association is not dying, it is growing steadily. We have some new members on the management team and we are looking at the website. Exopect to see new contnet shortly.

The entry list was posted on the VHRR website, by the VHRR, as they are the promoters of the event.

Another shot for you David

A bit of mayhem at Honda Hairpin

Brian Sala leading Terry Lawlor in the GTR before being overtaken a lap or two later, Jim Richards in the HR31 didn't seem to have the pace the car showed last year. It also DNF'd in the last race.

That blue BMW raced in the early 90's at the French Supertouring Championship (pre-Class 2/ST days, mind you).

Nice to see it race again, albeit so far away

Some nice pics and even nicer cars there, thanks for the pics!

Seeing the two Escort RS2000s exploring the track limits begs the question, what class / spec did they run in / to over there in period? Look like Gp1 cars except from pic one at least now has Minilite wheels.

I think I'm right in saying they ran to CAMS Group C regs. These allowed more mods than Group 1/1B.

Usual Wikipedia caveat but I think this will help. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_C_(Australia)

Yes, the Escorts were running to CAMS Group C regs.

That means 2 litre Pinto, twin carbs, 4 speed, rear drums & 13" wheels with 7" or 8" rims on slick tyres. All original bodywork retained, full interior trim and all the original arms and mounting points retained.

Thanks, there was some discussion of the car in the course commentary. It certainly stood out from the other M3s.

Mike here is a closer shot of two of the Escorts. There was also a flat-front car too, ex-Bob Holden, I will have to get some more photos to post.

They would have been racing at the same time as this Holden Torana SL/R 5000 L34

Some later Group C Cars - Holden Commodore VH #11 and Ford Falcon XD #22, the #48 Commodore is a Group A of course

Thanks. Your CAMS GpC is an interesting spec, with standard interiors but more mechanical mods than Gp1. Cars look better on the wider wheels! Think I saw the flat front in the background of an earlier pic.

Love the L34...........

Yes partially hidden by a Gemini coupe in post #13.

I think the ultimate 'thing' from Group C was the final version of the XE Falcon which ran 19" rear wheels from the Le Mans Porsches, even then the tyres couldn't really handle the weight of the cars.
