I'm not having any luck with the streaming video so far. Is there a particular browser that works better, or is my connection speed just too slow?

I think that the situation of the track is a little bit difficult on the front straight...

That's not surprising, since the front straight is concrete.
It's interesting how the track looks noticeably narrower from the onboard cams than from the TV cams. |

I sure hope that their stat reports put race speeds on htem like they have in the past, because I need them to score my contest.
Morons... Why do they have to change thier system and their website every stinking year? |

The track looks beautiful.
Too bad they can't race on it. Purist, I don't recall a grip concern caused by the concrete from your pervious track analysis. |

Milka is terrible. She has no business on the track, I dont care how much money she brings. When she is that slow, becomes a danger to other drivers, prevents faster cars from passing, its time for the IRL to pull her from the race.

Given the conditions I just watched: motoring around safely at 12 seconds off the pace, flag to flag, should get you at least P15.

Talk that John Lewis (IICS) just came out of a big meeting: qualfying could be postponed so they can grind the concrete. Panic mode engaged.

Tweet from Curt Cavin on site:
[curtcavin] Qualifying postponed to 8:30 a.m. Sunday local time amid problems with the concrete portion. There will be grinding after this practice. I'd pass on the practice if it was my car. |

Im like you Jag, I would park the car since after the concrete is grinded, that will change things. The morning session tomorrow will be interesting.

Jag, why would I automatically assume problems with a concrete section on a street circuit? Except, possibly, for Singapore, every street circuit I can think of has concrete segments. Heck, a lot of road courses that used to host the IMSA GTPs added concrete patches in the corners so that the downforce combined with the tires on those cars wouldn't peel up the track's surface.
Compared to the billiard-table-smooth, virtually freshly-paved surfaces of F1 circuits, even Valencia, this track is a dream. Drivers not all being able to put the power down perfectly, or not being able to brake perfectly, tests the drivers and helps give more potential for overtaking. And they absolutely can race here. All the good outbraking zones are wide enough to do something with, and you have certainly two straights where you can really get going, and that are plenty wide. I'm not sure about the pit straight, but the back straight has excellent slipstreaming possibilities, and there were some passes being made in the practices heading into Turn 11, so I have to say that this street circuit has as good, if not better, actual racing potential than any of the other temporary circuits on the calendar. |

In my opinon, the problem is that it is unacceptable that a trouble with a part of the track is discovered during the race weekend...
