Mini Event

The BARC are still short of marshals for the Mini Event being held at Silverstone on the weekend of the 23rd & 24th May. If anyone is able to help please email Becci at BARC to volunteer: rharvey@barc.net

Yup, that's the one http://www.miniunited.com/web/guest/miniunited2009

I'm doing Saturday with ES, but I believe that a few folk are less than keen because there is only a small period of track / marshaling time and the rest is free to enjoy the festival.

BBQ Sat evening and a concert including Paul Weller for those that feel tempted by the show

Is it a requirement to do the Friday as well? because if so I won't be able to, and what are the camping arrangements?

I'm only doing Sunday so I guess not!

Camping is behind Woodcote in the contractors compound.

Me too! Apparently you get to it through the coach park, should be signposted. There's also live music on the Friday from Calvin Harris

That's a good reason not to do Friday then. I get the feeling that this one could be very noisy with little chance of sleeping.

Guess that's why the campsite is well away from the live stage (which is between Copse & Becketts)! I'm with you on that one though-getting too old for all that nonsense.

Facilities at Woodcote for camping

Anyone any idea what facilities will be at Woodcote if that's the Marshals campsite?
Not done Silverstone before as a marshal so any hints & tips appreciated!!

Got my 'crew' pass & guest passes in the post today-apparently my Silverstone marshal's pass won't get me in to this event (worth noting for anyone deciding to do this at the last minute). The campsite is shared with contractors but I've no idea what the facilities are like. You could try emailing Penny Norris (penny.norris@silverstone.co.uk) for more details

Bring clothing for every weather type, usually all in one day!

I got one for me that says 'crew' and guest pass that has a barcode on the back-which I think is just a standard ticket. Don't think it really matters as both will get you through the gate

rang up,penny today, said they had run out of crew passes, and put two guest passes insted. you must register them before you can enter the track.
thanks for the advice/

If anyone has a camcorder or similiar I wouldn't mind seeing Calvin Harris in action.....Mr Weller would be good as well

I'm on holiday or I could have been tempted.

I was told that if your guest wants to participate in any of the activities, including Track Rides they have to get their pass validated at one of the entry public entry points. If you are a marshal you can use it for a track ride too.
