2010 V8SCFC: Entries & Driver Changes
Good lord! It is that time already?!
The 2010 V8 Supercar Fantasy Championship launches into action in the sunny sands of the Middle East in just under a months time in what is expected to be an exciting clash of new talent against wily championship veterans in the race for the Pete55 Memorial Trophy. V8 Supremo Antrodemus was bouncing with enthusiasm for the category in 2010, and is confident of a great year. “Obviously we get away to a wonderful start with the tremendous double-header in the Middle East, and 2010 will present a whole heap of new challenges,” he said. “I’m sure it will be an incredibly exciting year; lots of changes in team land and lots of driver changes so I look forward to it all rolling out again late next February.” Now entering its eighth year on Network Ten-Tenths, this series can always guarantee close racing, dodgy officiating, and heated rivalries. The 2010 V8 Supercar Fantasy Championship Series is upon us. Gentlemen (and Gentlewomen), Start Your Engines! 1. Drivers You can hire up to 4 drivers to drive your cars, provided that their combined salary comes in below the $2,000,000 Salary Cap. Here is how much they cost: $1,600,000 Will Davison Garth Tander Jamie Whincup $1,400,000 Craig Lowndes Mark Winterbottom $1,200,000 James Courtney Steven Johnson Rick Kelly $1,000,000 Michael Caruso Lee Holdsworth Russell Ingall Jason Richards Shane van Gisbergen $800,000 Jason Bright Fabian Coulthard Alex Davison Todd Kelly Steven Richards $600,000 Paul Dumbrell Greg Murphy Tim Slade Andrew Thompson $400,000 Jason Bargwanna Tony d’Alberto Paul Morris Karl Reindler Jonathan Webb $200,000 Dean Fiore Daniel Gaunt Other Drivers If anyone else not listed above drives in one of the non-enduro rounds, they will be valued at $200,000. Endurance Drivers Specialist enduro drivers will be available for Phillip Island and Bathurst. More info below. 2. Hiring & Firing As Team Owner/Manager, you are permitted to sack any or all of your drivers in the lead-up to a round, and replace them - so long as you don’t blow the salary cap or 4-driver limit. To sack/hire someone, post in the Driver Changes thread (ie. here) expressing your disappointment in your ex-employee(s), and your hopes for your new driver(s). You will only be charged a driver change if your team is different at the next round, so there is scope to change your mind if need be. The deadline for making changes is the start of first practise. However, you can only do this twice during the season. Endurance Drivers If you wish, you may use one of your two allocated driver changes to hire some of the Sunday drivers that appear for Phillip Island and Bathurst. Your driver lineup, including enduro specialists, must still fit inside the $2M, 4-driver limits. You will automatically revert to your normal driver lineup after Bathurst, should you choose this option. Note that you do not have to pair up your drivers. The price list for enduro drivers will be released once we know who they are (sometime in August). As an added incentive, the once-a-year brigade also come with generously discounted price tags So to sum things up: - You can change your driver lineup twice during the regular single-driver rounds; or - You can change your driver lineup once during the regular single-driver rounds and also employ enduro drivers for Phillip Island and/or Bathurst; or - You can exercise your right not to use either driver change if you don't want to. 3. Points: Points are the same as the real series. Whatever a driver scores at each round in real life is what that driver will receive here, including penalties. Your worst round will not be dropped. You will not receive $200 for passing 'Go'. If you notice that your team hasn't scored as many points as you think they should have (or more than they should have ), there are a couple of likely reasons for this: 1) My maths stinks; 2) I missed your driver change; 3) I've only just realised one of your drivers got penalised somewhere along the line. Either way, let me know and I'll fix your score so its 100% correct. 4. Other Things You Should Know As Team Owner: - One team per person, per year. - You don’t have to use all $2 million, but DO NOT GO OVER BUDGET!!! You will be suitably punished (ie. disqualified from the round) if I discover any creative bookkeeping. - A driver can be chosen by more than one team - these guys are consummate professionals and are able to drive 37 cars simultaneously. - Points are the same as the real series. If things don't seem to add up, feel free to point out my mathematical ineptitude. - Round results and championship standings will be posted here following the conclusion of each round. - After the results have been posted, you can report on your team’s performance (or lack thereof). Show us how good you are at distributing propaganda. 5. Team Announcements: Once you’ve picked your driving line-up, give your team a name, announce some sponsors, racing numbers, liveries, grid girls/guys, mascots, overseas technical partners and any other stuff you can think of, and of course your manufacturer of choice, then post here giving a detailed description of the copious quantities of hide your team will kick in the forthcoming season. To make it easy for me, could you please condense the propaganda into this sort of form following your press release: Quote:
Entries are open as of now, so start issuing those press releases! Your team can be altered without penalty until first practise at Yas Marina (February 18). Comments/suggestions/queries are more than welcome, either here or via PM. May the Fords be with you (or against you as the case may be), Antrodemus Top Dog, WOOFVESCO (World Organiser Of Fantasy Vee Eight Supercar Competitions) |

One of the stalwarts of the Ten Tenths Fantasy V8 Supercar Championship Andrew Denman Racing return for the 2010 season with a 2 car team and plenty of ambitions. Again we will be using FG Falcons (as opposed to the obvious typo in last year's release, there is no such thing as a BG Falcon but at least Barry and Robin Gibb were pleased). DRIVING LINEUP #33: Shane Van Gisbergen #27: Jason Bargwanna As per usual, ADR will announce their endurance drivers prior to the events that ADR traditionally perform at their peak in with 1 Bathurst win in 2004 and several other strong finishes. SPONSOR PORTFOLIO We are delighted to be in a partnership with the Western Bulldogs Football Club, and the arrangement has brought with it a fresh livery (with a bit of red to boot, and we've still convinced Ford to cough up), and a brand new major backer in Mission Foods who sponsor both the Bulldogs and the Queensland Firebirds netball team. As such a special livery for the Queensland rounds will be released in due course. We are pleased to have these sponsors on board for our tilt for glory. - Mission Foods - Western Bulldogs FC - Ford - SEN 1116 - Pennzoil - Turtle Wax - Australia Post - Canterbury Clothing - Samsung - Beta Tools - Bosch MAIN LIVERY (Queensland Round Livery to be revealed and released in seperate "Mocks/Remakes" Thread) And yes I know it's on a BA template but use your imagination folks. We look forward to meeting up with everyone on opening day at Abu Dhabi. MICK JEFFREY OWNER/CO-FOUNDER ANDREW DENMAN RACING |

!!!PRESS RELEASE!!!
Brendon Engineering launch 2010 V8 Supercar Fantasy Championship campaign! Brendon Engineering returns in 2010 to challenge for the V8 Supercar Fantasy Championship with some exciting news. Pedder's Suspension has returned to the team as a major sponsor after 2 years away from the team, "it's great Pedder's has come back on board they were awesome to us last time. "We hope to just pick up where we left of a couple of years ago". said an excited team Owner Brendon at the team's launch today in Sydney. Fabian Coulthard has resigned with the team in 2010 hoping to improve on his 2009 performance. "I'm excited to get out there this year and really give the championship a shake. "last year was great with my podium in Tasmania but went abit south from there, that won't happen this year." Coulthard said. The new recruits for the team are Kiwi ace Greg Murphy, veteran Jason Bargwanna & Dean Fiore. Murphy however will have to wait until Bahrain for his debut due to a date clash of Top Gear Live which Murphy is co-presenter, team Owner Brendon will jump behind the wheel for the opening round at Abu Dhabi. "It's abit of a pitty Murph won't be there to start the year but he is pumped and i'm confident he can fight his way into the championship. "Having said that though i am looking forward to taking the #51 Commodore for a spin and Abu Dhabi looks like an awesome facility." said Brendon. Bargwanna is also poised for a big year after returning to the sport last year with the now defunct Sprint Gas Racing, "it was good to blow the cobwebs out last year and get back into the V8 groove. "there were some good highlights namely the Surfers pole but i'm hoping for a lot more this year with Brendon Engineering." Fiore in his second year is looking to improve in his 2nd year in the sport but staying realistic about his chances, "I'm hoping to get in to the top 20 in the championship and get my share of top 10 resaults." The team has built 2 brand new VE Commodores for the teams flying Kiwi's Coulthard and Murphy while Bargwanna and Fiore will campaign 2 of the teams 2009 VE's. The Team has also purchased a brand new state of the art transporter. At the launch the team debuted it's stiking new livery "it turned out a treat, it looks verry aggresive. "Our competitor's better take a good look at the front because they are only going to see the back of our cars on track." joked Brendon. Brendon Engineering will be in action for the first time in 2010 at the Winton test day on the 8th of February and when the season proper kicks off in Abu Dhabi from the 18 - 20th of February. Driver line-up: #24 - Fabian Coulthard - VE Commodore - $800,000 #51 - Greg Murphy - VE Commodore - $600,000 #11 - Jason Bargwanna - VE Commodore - $400,000 #12 - Dean Fiore - VE Commodore - $200,000 Photos from the launch: Cover's comming off: Team poster: Transporter: Merchandise/Crew uniform: |

Team MVMotorsport returns for 2010 and is hoping for a much better result this year than last year when we came 52nd in a 56 horse race. Despite the poor result we have convinced 2009 major sponsors St. George Bank and the St. George Illawarra Dragons to stump up the cash again for 2010. The team will continue to be known as Happy Dragon Team MVMotorsport. Minor sponsors will include Southern Cross Projects, IGT, WIN Television, Select TV, i98FM, and Bundaberg - the spirit of rugby league. Our apparel sponsor has this year changed from Adidas to Reebok.
If there is anyone who would be keen to design a livery for Happy Dragon Team MVMotorsport it would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately Team Principal MattV has only just passable skills on Paint. Team: Happy Dragon Team MVMotorsport Drivers: #34 Lee Holdsworth ($1,000,000) #43 Fabian Coulthard ($800,000) #99 Dean Fiore ($200,000) Manufacturer: Holden Good luck to all participants in 2010 and thanks to Antrodemus for taking the time to run the competition again. |

Thanks to those who have already signed up, and thanks in advance to those who will sign up later
In an addendum to the rules, our benevolent forum deities have confirmed that, despite the current tough economic situation, there will still be a Prize for winning the 2010 V8SCFC That Prize is an absolutely free one-year subscription to Ten-Tenths.com, allowing you to banish all the advertising and probably do other stuff I haven't looked up yet. So now bragging rights will have to take a back seat as you all have something very real to aspire to! Many thanks to the bad vegetable and activated solenoid for the prize |
