Zefarelly I think Paul was being a bit tongue in cheek ref the old red flag stoppages single seaters tend to have.

Ah the old "Carlos Fandango" 1500cc Anglebox. I thought they'd been banned.

I passed this imp a few times at the craner curves , the old hairpin and into redgate . . . .and he passed me, at McLeans a few times, but I won that little battle in the end and pulled away by the end of the race

not banned Peter . . . . .apart from the block and shell theres not much from Dagenham though, and theyve been well tweaked, most anglias didnt have disc brakes on the front, let alone the back !

Correct. In fact none of them had discs. However the App J rules did allow them.

its a difficult subject because theyre excellent race cars but not very authentic in a pre-66 sense (discs all round, seam welded, welded multipoint cages, multi link suspension, trick engines, heavily modified steering/suspension geometry etc , so it makes the field look a bit odd regardless of how under developed other cars may be, from an engineering and spectators point of view its great though because everyone loves to see screaming sideways saloons !

Would that be a Merlyn?
Not too good at these "spindly" things but as I've lost a lot of weight I thought I might have another go. Re kindle my youth as it were and Merlyn's were always my favourites. |

nope, my car is a mk 4/6 Nike of 1969 vintage. A Merlyn is the thing to have at the moment (prices correspond with that too!)

We currently have a section for HFFC on the www.clubff1600.co.uk website. I am looking for a journo to write up the races so we can put them on the site. If anyone can help us out then please email me. Any images would also be useful.

Would you loan this man your car?
http://www.clubff1600.co.uk/news/new....asp?NewsID=25 And "escapes horror crash"? Maybe a bit more Motorsport and a bit less "super soaraway sun" hmm? But the idea is good. I wish you well. |
