Do we know the team split for the Hyundais yet? And who will run them (BRC plus one more team)?

I would say it will be 4 BMR cars, two under different name.

As for the Honda seat, since the announcement it seems that Tassi is strongly rumoured on many credible sites.

The idea to limit teams to two cars is not a good one. What's the point if Cyan/SLR/BRC etc will still field four cars but under seperate names?

Nevertheless, it looks like it's going to be a great grid. Hopefully racing is better than last year.

I remember this was the case in FIA GT as well back in the days, you had JMB Racing and JMB Competition, running more than 2 Ferrari's. Yukos Friesinger did the same with Porsche.

Exactly I was thinking about some BTCC stuff as well when I was writing the comment.

And Ceccon in at Mulsanne, presumably alongside Coronel

Good to see Ceccon back!

It is good to see him back.

I knew nothing of his personality before his appearances last year and he came across as a thoroughly nice chap. Of course, he's quick too which is the important thing.

The new Honda WTCR Team !!!

The new Honda WTCR team will be KCMG, judging by this post from JoĂ£o Carlos Costa, Eurosport Portugal journalist. Good choice, i guess .

WTCR should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Hi, is there somewhere better than ten tenths to discuss WTCR?

I am amazed at how little is discussed about the championship here in comparison to BTCC and previous years of WTCC..

The driver line up this year is probably one of the greatest in modern touring car history if not ever, BOP should hopefully be a lot better with a year under their belts too. Now all they have to do is change 80% of the tracks on the calendar and we have something incredible!

Well this is a free forum, but I’m sure you can find others

To be fair the BTCC is probably more popular than the WTCR and WTCC really self destructed after 2015

Not sure I agree with BoP, but we should have more talented drivers on the grid, even if the calendar needs shaking up

I can't wait for WTCR. But the shoddy promotion by Eurosport and the inaccessibility of coverage is its fatal flaw.

For me you can add absolutely dire tracks to the list too. Street circuits do not create great racing; they create processions and accidents. Neither of these things are what I wish to see. WTCR travels the world, and there are many superb circuits that could host it.

Agree with the above. Awful calendar and poor coverage - all well and good having an incredible grid, but it's almost worthless when so few can actually watch it and the cars are paraded around street circuits...

Eurosport production has always been a minimal effort approach and even then only performed semi competently. My one near constant gripe about Eurosport is that the audio levels for the cars are always way too low.

So many circuits in the world, they choose the ones where even the kerbs fall off

China is leading world economy so we need to visit it twice.
Kerbs that fall's off, that's not important...

That's the problem, I have to use this site and Autosport to keep in touch with the series. I feel I am missing a great series

While it’s very improper, there are plenty of ways to see the races outside of Eurosport

What is disappointing is that you have to resort to other means through lack of an official stream

They dropped their race 1 stream for this season because of lack of viewing...

Maybe just stream to Youtube!

Not surprised, given that those streams never actually seemed to exist....

After being able to watch zero WTCR but TCR UK, Europe & Germany without fault, plus several excellent endurance streams, it's a real shame they can't implement a similar system for WTCR.

I agree! The streams were never made easy to find and i'm sure pretty much every flyaway race in Asia wasn't even streamed!

They do, it's called Eurosport Player and you pay for it.
