Mud guards for Formula Jedi car to make it a closed wheel track day car?

A mate and I are on the way back from Spa and we're thinking about buying a single seater, maybe a Jedi. I understand that open wheel cars aren't allowed on many track days, so I'm wondering if mud guards can be fitted to solve the problem?

or get a race licence and use the car on circuit test days where you will be on sessions with cars of similar cornering and braking ability.

I think that something like a Mallock Clubmans car would be the best bet - already comes with mudguards and can be raced in several series. The Rover K-Series engine cars are reliable, quick and relatively cheap to run.

Maybe a cheap ex Formula X car, can be used with a canam style sports car body or as a single seater

Get a Sports 2000 Duratec - 200bhp and only 520kg. Reliable and strong engine (I ran mine for several seasons with only oil and filter changes). Closed wheel and pretty much untouchable in terms of speed / value. And a great race series too when you're bored of overtaking Porsches and Lambos

Or buy a Formula Ford Zetec or Duratec totally built proof cheap as chips to buy and run. When you are bored of track days / testing you AND your mate can both race in monoposto (one driver saturday and one on sunday).

a Jedi with mudguards would look horrendous !

it would also be an EXTREMELY frustrating thing to track day... i race a Jedi, and could not possibly think of sharing a track with tin tops - the corner speed of a Jedi is insane - and where the fun is. even against relatively fast kit cars etc.. a Jedi is another league ahead
