Peter, all I asked for was the difference, in the two series if there was one..

You made that sound I was dumb.. One day maybe you'll realise to answer peoples questions a bit more nicely.. I dont take a regular interest in it like you obviously do.

Historic Group NC is where the Biante cars used to compete , however , a proportion of competitors in the Group NC required greater freedoms in regard to components allowed with their cars than was applicable with the Historic 5th Category and also involved was an advertising issue , a group of competitors then applied to CAMS to change their logbooks and go their own way with the Biante Series which now runs with it's own administration under NON historic 3rd category logbooks and greater freedoms in regard to vehicle components.

And there's more to this meeting than the Group N guys.

Some great Group A and C Touring cars will be out there.

And some historic Formula Fords that still think we're giving away sheep stations.

And for those that remember the AGP before it went to Adelaide, you can get excited with the Ralt Formula Mondial that raced at Calder's Aust Grand Prix pre 85.....some very quick cars in that field.

And did I mention Sports Sedans?

The list goes on......

Got to be there if you have a pulse.

I briefly sore the Veskanda in pit lane today. Didnt see it on track though? hopefully tomorrow. The Maserati 200si sounds great as well. Who would have thought the De Tomaso Pantera would be so popular

My old mate Tino Leo is down there in the ex-Gary Rogers Mustang, very well presented and a very quick car. Last time he was down there he got bumped off the track and sustained a fair bit of damage to the front so I hope he has a better weekend this time round.

Just home from the even, it was great. Some carnage over the 3 days, a few cars will need more than Mr Sheen to look presentable again.

It was good to see some cars out there I haven't seen before and also good to see some new/newish officials track-side.

Sadly, my last event track-side as an official, had a great crew on my point (13) and really enjoyed myself. I'll still be visible around the tracks, and will now probably annoy the drivers as much as I already annoy my fellow flaggies and other officials!

All in all, I couldn't have chosen a more fun (though at times excruciatingly frustrating) weekend to end my track-side career.

End.

The first of our Podcasts from the Sandown Historic should be up soon if not already. It's on iTunes at http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/M...st?id=82362745
This features the ex Max Stewart Mildren Waggott.
It was a great weekend, the Sports Sedans added plenty although some of the "chaps" found them "a trite vulgur"
Bad weekend for Mike Roddy, a head gasket in the Group C car and a broken oil line in the Sports Sedan. Hossack's new car broke a piston on Friday. Interesting car in the pits Saturday was the ex Peter Janson Supercharged XU1. With the onset of the Historic Sports Sedan class the owner is eventually looking to restore it to it's former glory.
The Masa was wonderful to look at and we;ll have a profile on it in another Podcast later in the week along with one on the Veskanda.
The MRC seemed happy with the crowd, about 6-7000 they claimed. They opened the hill for car parking and got quite a few up there.
Wade Calderwood said he was already looking at ways to try and make the event even bigger next year when the F5000's should return.
BTW they're talking a possible 30 + 5000's at PI in March.
Only down side for us was our venerable Sony PD100 was dropped and is pretty much trashed. Sadly no camera, no TV show.

Trev, is Tino's car the original Denis O'brien car from Wagga, that was eventually sold to Gary Rogers????

I am not sure, but it was the white one with the gold stripes over the bonnet and roof, with Tino Leo on the front guards.

Looks like Bob Tweedie arrived from NSW in a Sierra and demolished everyone in GroupA &C--1:19s aint half bad! Some circuits still have Tweedie listed as record holder in Group Nb from the mid 90s in a Falcon Sprint. Interesting to see if Jum's Sprint will be faster ??

I believe Jim Richard's Sprint will be built to TCM specs, not Nb, so it should be faster.

Did the Moffat and Geoghegan Mustangs make an appearance on Sunday?
I could only get there Saturday and they were not there then, which was a bit disappointing.
