Les should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
changes at Silverstone

I see that the bulldozers are in at the 'Stone. A second road bridge is being built, the support paddock relaid and new toilet blocks and rubbish areas.

The new bit of track at Woodcote was used - err by a Lotus with engine problems. I could only presume this bit is a new pit entrance as it really doesn't go anywhere!

The new 'bit' at Woodcote is just for the bikes.

The new bit of track has been laid to add a sharp left hand right hand bend between luffield and woodote to slow the bikes down and it will be in use for the first time next weekend (as far as I know).

They will come round the inside track of the two at Luffield and then enter the pit emtrance where they will then go round the added bends and then enter woodcote.

However this could provide some interesting racing...think that any marshals there are gonna have a busy day!

Hopefully all this work will mean great improvements...its just a shame that it looks such a mess at the moment.

Looked pretty dangerous to me. There's a small gravel trap between the pit lane entrance and race track. If anyone goes off there it could easily block the pit entrance. Hope the BRDC have the number of an emergency glazier - the clubhouse windows are now very very close to the track and I can't see them lasting a full season.

Yeah thats very true and it could end up causing lots of disruption to the racing if a major incident occurs! Well not long to go until we find out the consequences of this new bit!

Nobody has a map of the changes mentioned do they? I can see what it looks like in my head, but a map would be great. Also are the radicall changes that were to alter the layout still going to be done?

Will this section still be known as Woodcote? If not would anybody like to put forward suggestions for a new name. I've been watching it being used for the Superbikes and it's awful.

It was pretty nasty and towards the end on the meeting some of the riders were starting to get a bit confident about the new chicane...luckily there were no serious accidents there.

At the moment its being known as the new complex or the new chicane.

Pic as promised. The yellow line is the bike track, the green is the pit-land entrance. Obviously the racing line should be a tad straighter than my wonky drawings
