A tiny question about Olivier Beretta...
I read that Beretta resides in Monaco. I thought as he races in the US, he'd moved there... Wouldn't all the flights get a bit tiring?

The flights might be tiring, but how taxing are they?
I suspect he likes Monaco and wants to stay there. Has he got a pad in America too? |

He is Monegasque, he is from Monaco, he is also allowed to own more than one house!

Olivier Beretta, unlike a lot of other sportsmen, is a "true" monegasque, his family is a big player in the construction field, like the one of Venturi owner Gildo Pastor-Pallanca

Andy Wallace has been doing the transatlantic hop for many years now. Brundle used to do it when he drove for TWR same with Neilsen, Lammers...

I know Oliver Gavin does the same. Apparently he tried to set up house in the USA but the family could not adjust.

I think the transatlantic flights and consequent time away from family were one of the reasons James Weaver cited when stating why he chose to retire.
Some drivers become naturalized Americans (Andy Pilgrim, Wayne Taylor) but many choose to continue to live at home in Europe. If your flights are paid for, why not? North America is not for everyone, some people like home. |

Lets see?
Live in Monoco, fly 1st class back and forth, pay NO to minimal Income taxes vs. Live in the US, NOT fly back and forth, Pay 30% income tax. Hmmmmmmmm? Now which would I do??? |

Hmmm, I could be in then. I have money on my bank account. Lots of it. And they even colour it a nice shade of red with some funny dashes in front - for decoration, I guess........ |
