The car seems to be cross between a GT1 and a prototype. In a good way.

I think its great that someone has the courage and creativity to do something like this, best of luck to him. The car is being built by N Technology at the moment (early stages).

Only confirmed race right now is Nurburgring 24hrs either next year or 2012. Possibly a VLN race or too as a warmup?

From what I've read, it's racing in the Nurb 24 before being converted for street use.

Wow, a car that raced on the track professionally. Then adapted to use for normal street driving. I cant imagine how awesome that would be.

Wasn't the Dauer Porsche a sort of similar case. The 962 prototype was adapted for "street" driving and then they were able to race it as a "GT" car? Porsche very cleverly finding the loop-hole in the rules.

Yep, you're right. And they were winning the Le Mans races though their car was running in lower class

Hopefully the car will actually race and not just do the first and last lap for 'show'. That is a pretty cool car.

From reading a thread started by the car's owner on another forum, he's serious, very serious about racing the car and getting the car to do the whole race rather then start and finish with most of the time being spent in the pits. N Technology are building the car and he's looking around for Ring specialists to race the car.

No matter how good or bad their race is I'll be following this project with much interest.

On that page you linked to, if you pause the video at 5:08 5:09 5:10, you'll see the new SSC Ultimate Aero II, the car that's supposed to break the Veyron SuperSport's record top speed, with somewhere around 270mph being the target. And again at 5:34 if you pause it, you'll see the rear of the car.
