If Aston Martin races in GTS class (next season GTS = GT1) and Jaguar in LMP1/GTP they aren't competing against each other.

Maybe not outright, but they had a controlling interest in Aston Martin and started the Jaguar takeover. That WAS why the AMR1 was canned.
