yes well done to Allan for not just this race but the entire season and I too hope to see him on the F1 grid in 2002..I only managed to catch the first 30 mins of the race before i went off to celebrate new years and have just got home to find out the results.
also well done to rinaldo capello and Brad Jones for their supporting roles |

A good crowd there was...second highest of the series.
Brad Jones did a very good job during the practice sessions and also strappin McNish in As for Allan McNish, very well done for an excellent drive, not just in Adelaide but the whole series. And well done to Allan Heath in second place. |

Yeh, he basically went round and round and round, consistently as clock work. Not sure of his fastest lap but the best lap for the car was a 1min33, about 10 sec slower than the audi. But they finished, and had good pit stops, and the big fat Ford sounded better as the laps went by.
At the Podium presentation, some of the Pilbeam/Nissan boys were standing amazed at seeing the Konrad boys on the dais. "Franz Konrads comin' second....who could'a beleived it." They received a huge reception, and Leigh Diffy spiked the crowd into a special, cheer for Heath wich went down well. |

I think the official figure for the attendance was 65k on race day. I must admit they gave all the podium attendies an excellent reception. It was just like Brocky had won!!!
Allan Heath did about 80 laps. It also appears that he has been invited for a few race with the team again next year!! |
