Pre-Bathurst 1000 historic parade lap - which car this year?

In the past we have seen various former Bathurst winners get a lap or two before the 1000 - such as the Hahne/Goss Jaguar.

Which car should it be this year?

40 years since HDT first Bathurst victory

30 years since the Brock/Richards A9X 6 laps victory

25 years since big banger 1-2

20 years since Johnson/Bowe Sierra victory

"It was dry for the second go-around. Grice, nervous, worrying about his Bathurst jinx, ran 2:25.9. The amazing Brock, using every last centimetre of bitumen, yet keeping the car straight and balanced and at full noise, came back with a staggering 2:20.0 as if to say: "Match that". And people just shook their heads, bit their lips and wondered who would be second".

How about a parade of cars from the 1999 FAI 1000, marking the tenth anniversary of the 'war' being won?

The evil side of me wants to suggest the vodafone commodore...

But in reality, the 25 years since big banger 1-2 would be sen-bloody-sational.

we had news of one of the biggest defections. why not have the #05 Sierra on the 20th anniversary of the defection. i know he raced the Bimmer in 88 but it's Holden v Ford battle now and it fits.

i'm with Fj though on the 25 year of the big banger 1-2 on their last Bathurst. i love those cars.

Might be a bit tricky, aren't both cars wearing number #05 now?

Given recent developments an '84 HDT VK reunion is more unlikely than ever

How about rather than a parade lap, a race for Group C/A cars on the morning of the 1000 instead?

Marcos WTF is a back marker
Parade lap

First. Mezera, wearing sack cloth and ashes for his T-ville "its OK to turn backmarkers arround" spiel.

Second. Wigston & Bond wearing dunces caps for allowing dirty marcos to punt & push his way to a C-ship "win" in 2003.

Third. A public apology from cams for the group A farce they inflicted on us. LHD chookcookers, volvos and cheated up sieras that were never sold here.

Forth. An apology from the 7 network for their gayfl/olympics obsession and for shafting the series through most of the 80s &90's.

Fifth. Drivers parade lap. We sat through plenty of them with Holden drivers in mustang convertibles. We want equal time with ford drivers
in Corvettes.

gtho- over rated then, over priced now.

40th anniversary of the GTHO (and HT 350 Monaro), 25th for the end of Group C would be nice but the end of something is not normally something you celebrate

no different than the farce Group C had become by 1984... the ATCC was in far worse shape had they continued with Group C

In Sydney at least, 90% of the races in the 1980s were shown live (along with the supports), even the AMSCAR events
