Silent Number should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Garry Grant (CAMS - Vic) Resigned

I have heard that Garry Grant of CAMS Victoria has resigned a couple of days after trying to get the 2 State Series back together, or should I say get the AASA one to fold and come under the CAMS State Series.

What can be read into this one? Was his head on the block if he wasn't succesful with this attempt?

Will have to wait and see.

1200Datto27 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
If it's true...

news of him leaving CAMS has been around for a while now.........maybe a good thing seeing he not too keen on AASA being so successful......i dont think he was too impressed shaking hands with someone wearing a AASA hat at the Sandown 500..(snigger!)

Garry leaving has been semi public knowledge for over 12 months it's just the date wasn't known as he's let everyone know he intended to resign sooner or later to persue other interests.

Let's hope he can put more time into the Geelong Speed Trials and get that excellent event back on the calendar.

I think you will find the competitors lobby group was the final key player in this, in particular John Morriss

I don't know about that!

He was sort of between a rock & a hard place so to speak with the people around him & especially located above him in Dandy Rd when trying to sort things out between certain parties.

The big question is who will they hire to replace him.

All things considered Gary has done a good job for what he had to work with. The bill of goods he was expected to " sell" was a dud and left Gary as a sacrificial lamb on a limb of someone else's doing. For the critics of Gary -- what hope did he have? The vitriol needs to be directed where it is really deserved and that is not the ground floor where the Victorian office is.

I wonder where I apply for the position? Do you think CAMS would ever employ a Ronke?

You've probably got as much of a chance of getting a job at Dandenong Road as I do.

Namely Buckleys...

Adam, on the scheme of things, a Ronke beats a Cranker hands down.

Although if it were a poker game, i'd be a 6 high, you would be a a pair of threes and any stay Van den Duncan out there would be holding a full house.

Almost as full-a-house as Dandy Rd is currently........

10 rounds of a State series for 2007, 6 between Calder and Winton and 4 between Phillip Island and Sandown, the competitors have insisted on this, all competitors told Cams this is what they wanted

SO which administrative body will run these 10 rounds, CAMS or AASA.

Which one do the competitior want to run the race meetings:
  • The one that has the course car do more laps over a week-end than the competitors,
OR
  • the one that see's the savings in entry fee's negated by increased tyre wear & fuel consumption from having too many races per category
Or a hybrid amagamation of the 2 options, giving both: Lots of laps, reasonable entry costs, a organisational structure that functions as a service to the sport, not one that attempts to generate mass profit's,

Oh and of course, not too many opening & closing laps .

Anyone want the job of CAMS Victoria State Manager?

Advertised in today's AA... it pays $60-$70k per annum.

You get invited to loveins down at CAMS HQ... or not...

Why would they advertise it in AA? I thought that was a mag for people interested in motorsport.

GTR, can you go referee for me, I'm sure the Hallowed Halls would love to have me scream out, at top note,
" that's ferken bull-s#ite " every 5 minutes, for the first 6 or 8 months, till they came around to my way of thinking.........

Hang on, 60 - 70 K, geez I'm not taking a pay cut to be hated at CAM$, I can earn more than that now & be hated by both my workmates & by CAM$.

You think David Brent was hated, just ask my workmates what they think of me........

On second thoughts, no please don't.
