Marshalling Prizes for Bilbao

Watched the World Series by Renault this morning on Motors TV from Bilbao (interesting looking street circuit but rubbish racing).

Marshalling prizes of the race went to:

1. The guy puffing away on a fag while dealing with a car (hope it was just a pull off). Even the commentators noticed that.

2. The guy standing almost in the middle of the track waving the yellow while the safety car was out. Not so much of a problem at that stage, but he stayed where he was while waving the green when racing recommenced! Fortunately there wasn't much overtaking so he wasn't in much danger.

3. One car was pulled off the circuit and then (from the TV angle) appeared to have been abandoned broadside in a head on position at the exit of a corner. If you want to make a target, make it a good one!

Watched most of the BTCC coverage as well today and can only say that the standard of marshalling was what I would have expected from my colleagues. The biggest worry of the day was spotting one Ramsay Inglis - but at least he had his back to us! Well done everybody at Croft.

Shelagh, was there much coverage of Mr Procters accident in the 1st BTCC race, or any report on how he was. Running on a budget of £2.50 i guess the car might be absent for a little while (might see him more in SCSA )

And someone put Ramsey on the first corner!!! What were they thinking...
