TorqueWench should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Two televised Race Grids to fill - anyone up for it?

I have two race grids - Castle Combe 7th May and Mallory 4th June - and I'm aiming at a Classic Sports/Saloon grid at each.

Several clubs have meetings on these weekends, but for those that aren't committed elsewhere and who fancy a 15m quali and 20 min race for £280 each round, please either reply or PM me. I have a week to commit, and would need actual (money!) support - say 50% up front and the balance 1 month before - as I can't take the risk otherwise.

Am happy to make it an "Anglo-European Challenge" to widen the appeal. Motors TV are keen to have similar grids at both rounds, but frankly anything that is pretty and exciting will be perfect! They are of course televised live across Europe, and then repeated quite a bit, and you get your own DVD of the race, plus you could have an on-board camera.

Am also quite happy to talk to anyone who would like to sponsor the rounds - you'd be surprised how little it costs, if you have a European-wide product/service.

Have cleared this Thread with John Turner, btw.

Shall we have some Bank Holiday fun?

Magnus has sent this quick resume:

]The programme will be broadcast live across the whole of Europe (39
countries) and will be on air for approximately five hours from 1300-1800 UK
time.. Foreign language live commentaries will be fed from the Motors TV
studios in Paris. As is usual with Motors TV programmes, there will be a
number of repeats (highlights) over the ensuing weeks which will ensure
considerable airtime for each Championship. Each competitor will receive a
DVD of their race coverage following the event. There will be at least one
on-board camera fitted to a car of your choice. A winner's garland and
trophies for 1st 2nd and 3rd overall will be provided.

Sarah, as I`m already at CC on the 7th May I`d be interested in another race the same day.

That's the spirit - I thought I might get a few 2nd racers. Sadly, because of the way it's organised, I can't offer discounts for second races. However, what I will do is offer £10 less on the race if I get the entry fees for Combe in full by March 1st - how's that?

So that's £270 entry fee for Combe if I get a cheque (or bank transfer) by 1st March, after that it'll be a £280 for each race.

I could be up for bringing the Elan out to CCombe . Seems like a nice way to spend a Bank Holiday and it's only round the corner from me. I think I'm meant to be looking after my Mum that weekend - is there somehwere nice and warm I can put her?

i'll confirm one way or another this weekend.

Hi Paul - sorry for the delay, I haven't been able to get into 10 10ths for a week now!
Anyway, you are most welcome - your Mum might be able to blag her way into the hospitality building next to the bridge, I know commentators put their families in there!!!

There is a classic sports vs saloon race listed for Combe on Monday, but it's not a televised race (the only one that isn't). Link for details here:

Apparently the slot for the Mallory classic race was given to a Mini series instead.
