Passing points

here is something that I was playing around with while I was bored before the start of the race.
Simply this states how many places a driver has gained this season so far (for example in Round 1 Sebastien Bourdais gained 3 places from his grid position so after Round 1 he is +3 , after this race he lost 4 places during the race and so his total score so far is -1) if a driver fails to finish then nothing on his stats get changed.

hopefully you get the picture (or I may be just a little bit too bored )
Obviously not all the top guys will be up front because there arent as many cars to pass but its an interesting stat non the less

After mexico they stand as follows.

1. Andrew Ranger +12
2. Ryan Hunter-Reay +9
3. Bjorn Wirdheim +8
4. Bruno Junqueira +3
= AJ Allmendinger +3
= Marcus Marshall +3
= Fabrizio Delmonte +3
8. Ronnie Bremer +2
= Jimmy Vasser +2
10. Cristiano Da Matta +1
= Oriol Servia +1
12. Timo Glock 0
13. Sebastien Bourdais -1
= Justin Wilson -1
= Paul Tracy -1
16. Mario Dominguez -2
17. Nelson Phillipe -3
18. Alex Tagliani -7

Ricardo Sperafico and Jorge Goeters are yet to record a finish.

Now that Justin is in a competitve ride you can see he's maximising every advantage he can make out of it.
He's really had the upper hand against AJ so far.

I actually missed qualifying as I went out, but It looked as though Ryan Hunter-Reay didn't set a good lap, did he have a problem? or just of the pace?

Excellent stuff from Justin, I hope he get sthe chance to make use of it. It's early days, but AJ might be worried that a newcomer has come ito the team set up for him and (so far) had the edge comfortably. Bremer continues to surprisingly outpace Wirdheim, and Glock is acquitting himself well agaisnt RHR. Marshall looks completely out of his depth, even losing out to the local rookie none of us had eard of a week ago, een with his team-mate up in 4th.

Great going by Justin, never doubted for a minute he has the talent to win at this level, if in a competitive ride. He beat Bourdais back in F3000, will he beat him again in Champ car?

I'm happier seeing Walker Racing back at the front. Good job by Tagliani...now go get 'em.

Shame to see Allmendinger being caned by Wilson too of course

Great race , some wild incidents but a super race for CC and certainly 100 times better than Long Beach.

well done Bruno and a great drive by Andrew ranger , but I was hoping Wirdheim could hang on but just got shuffled out at the end.

Fantastic racing really, lots of action and plenty of excitement. As Justin commented, almost everyone seemed to have some good luck and some bad luck, all in the same race.
