RaceCar Electrical connections
I am looking for some good quality single and double wire electrical connections. I don't want to use bullet connectors need something better that will last.
Any suggestions? Henry |

If I’m making any special electrical parts I sometimes use model car connections, from www.apexmodels.com they tend to be very high quality and low in resistance. It all depends on what your using them for and how much current you want to carry. Alternatively try RS: http://rswww.com

whats wrong with bullets? my car is littered with them
 although I have also soldered and or bolted a few more critical items, and shrink sleeved over some crimped connections |

molex connectors are good, and waterproof
stay away from bodgelocs (scotchlocs) |

Molex , Utilux or AMP are the only way to go.
They can be sourced world wide through Radio Spares (RS Components) or Farnell. These connectors are used world wide by Auto electricians and are the best. You can usually get boots to cover the connectors to make them water and oil proof as well. |

PS. Nothing wrong with Bullets as long as you crimp them correctly and insulate them. Spades are better and can be bought with insulators. Just make sure you buy a crimper that suits the connector. Pliers will not give a good crimp.

AMP Superseal 1.5 if you're on a budget. Or Amphenol 44 series/Cannon Sureseal. Anything else invites danger.
If you want to do it properly, Amphenol FAST or their MIL26482 series or Deutsch Autosport. |

Amphenol can be got at www.amphenol.co.uk There phone number is at the bottom of the page. These are what the F1 guys use so that may be an indication of the price. These are are water proof and maybe over the top for a use inside the car were they will not get wet.
