Auriga should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Pete Alexander DOES have two OX6's in his workshop. I know he is a great fan of Oxo's cars and has a great deal of respect for Oxo for not only driving and designing his own cars but building them and being competitive too. Pete is an FF nut and I know he has a penchant for the slightly unusual marques of car and loves to try and make them competitive. I know he also has a lot of respect for Tony Mundy, they are good griends and he has the last car that Tony built. Last time I was at Petes works he was wanting to run Ox6 in COB for himself...OR the Jamun...OR one of his old Swifts...OR even drag a Macon round!!! He wanted to do all of them!! I know he is desperate to get back into the cockpit more regularly. Pete was telling me that Chris Hall had expressed an interest, as had Chris Glazier and Andy Stapley and he had spoken to Trevor (He calls him Farmer Stiles!) and Brett Francis!!!

I doubt Peter will fit into Ox cockpit John is very slim and short and was close to being a Hobbit in the flim lord of the rings
at the rate your going you will have John hayden buying his old car back to race!

Anyone actually know for sure where Johns car is these days? I know it was the ex-works Niko Palhares car (the one that nearly won the Festival before conking out?? or was that a different year??). I tracked it from Hardisty to Richard (?) Pennington but lost trace of it after that.

Sounds like the RF90 I bought from Trevor and then sold to Ireland without ever having driven it?

Hmmm.... I know when it went to Pennington it became 2-tone blue and white (as opposed to the "Tecnik Litho Plates" pale blue and black which it ran immediately after being bought from the works).

I don`t recall it ever being Trevors to sell. It was Johns car, RAN by Trevor. Last thing I remember seeing Trevor run in was a flourescent yellow Van Diemen (82?) FF2000 car about a decade ago (presumably at a Festival).

Do let on!! Would be interested to see where it is now, and whether it is still as competitive as it was back then.

I am not so sure this was the Pennington car??? I thought it was the ex Richard Mansell car that ended up a dark green colour?

When Pennington had the car it ended up painted Black silver and white if I recall correctly.

If there really are any potential Champion of Brands racers out there, there is a Double Header race on Sunday 16th August on Brands Indy Circuit for 1600 Kents.
Why not enter and show if there really is a glut of FF1600s' in the Brands catchment area just waiting for somewhere to play.

Any interested parties can enter the BRSCC Midlands South / Webcon UK Club Formula Ford races. To make life easier, you won't need to pay a championship registration fee for a one off.

Entry Form available from www.brscc.co.uk Click on Club Formula Ford on the Home Page.

It's not quite as simple as that! I for one would need to regain my licence, buy racewear, practice etc before entering races. Looking towards 2010, not August 16th

Brands 16th AUG 09 TV coverage FF1600

The BRSCC has arranged for a series of races to be televised and shown on TV later in the year. The FF1600 races from Brands this weekend are included. (approx 12 minutes of footage per race) The quality of the production crew and the voice over for the commentary has been carefully chosen and should be top quality.

There are a few spaces left for this weekend. Apply to the BRSCC. (one off races are available to non registered competitors.)

The weekend will include garages, TV coverage and a chance to run at BH before the festival.

PRESS RELEASE about the Festival will be next week.

So if there are 50 + C o B comeptitors out there, hurry!

PRESS RELEASE – For immediate release, 12th August 2009

BECKETT JOINS THE BRSCC FESTIVAL TEAM

The BRSCC has confirmed that former BRDC assistant secretary James Beckett has joined the Club’s admin team for the 2009 Formula Ford Festival, which will take place at Brands Hatch on Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th October.

Beckett takes on the remit of promoting the 1600cc category of the Club’s ‘blue riband’ event, the 38th in the Festival’s rich history. BRSCC Competitions Director Drew Furlong said, “We are delighted to have James on board for the Festival. He brings with him a wealth of Formula Ford experience and contacts, evidenced by the success of the Walter Hayes Trophy, which he instigated and developed.”

Commenting on his temporary role, James said, “I am very pleased to be asked by the BRSCC to work with them this year to develop and strengthen the Formula Ford Festival. The Festival has a great history - a remarkable pedigree, and I hope that competitors will once again view the event as an important part of their end-of-season trophy season."

"I have said many times that Formula Ford is my passion. My early childhood memories are of watching Formula Ford 1600 at Silverstone and that naturally led to trips to Brands to camp out at the top of Paddock Hill Bend for the weekend to watch the Festival."

Beckett has enjoyed many Festivals - and rates Vincenzo Sospiri's victory in the 1988 final as one of the most exciting races he has ever seen.

Entry fees for all categories of Formula Ford have been held at the 2008 level as follows: Duratecs £400, Zetecs £295 and Kents £295.

Entry forms and Supplementary Regulations are available from the Festival section of the website www.brscc.co.uk/formula-ford-festival or via emailing entries@brscc.co.uk

driftwood has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
with the 2010 CoB now announced and a rumoured "over 50 enquiries made" how many actually have cars that can race in september?

I went to brands last weekend to see Ffords 16 cars raced mostly Ray 05/7 models and VD2k 05 version but 2 VD88 where having a good dice

SEMSEC 12 at Brands meeting has open wheel libre race a good enough reason to run yr car at brands
who is up for that?

Just an update on the 2010 Champion of Brands.
Things are going very well and I have a selection of dates to work through with MSVR next week.

I hope to be in a position to announce full details around the time of the Festival if possible (or early November).

Could we maybe start discussion on the inclusion of a Club Duratec "class" within the champion of Brands series? If allowed I feel there are a few people that would enter cars, myself included.
