Ian,
Not good form to belittle certain regions, whilst championing SOM. You are now in a double powerful position as both a TT moderator and kingpin of www.clubff1600.co.uk
Please support them all equally. Leave the winding up to blue nose, Justin Dawkins and all the others too numerous to mention.

Doesn't stop me having an opinion Diz. There is no doubt that SFFC is the weakest series numerically, and certainly a shadow of it former Champion of Brands self. I've not particularly championed SOM - I've said very nice things about the NW championship if you recall.

I was only joking - but it did spice you all up again which is nice to see!!

I think SOM and NWFF are both pretty strong with CC a close 3rd (they would be higher if all the fast ones returned - Rivett etc)

Justin, I would have liked to have raced at Silverstone but as you know that is out of my control!! - Anyone want to rent me a car??? I am working on a plan with UCLAN to try some of the other championships - going to do Rockingham, Combe double header and a Brands Hatch and then maybe I can help 50-SIX and Blue Nose bring the WH team trophy back to the North West where it should be!!!

Of course a certain historic driver could transfer to NWFF then it would be in the bag

I will help Jnr Jnr. It's on November 6 and 7 and last year entries were around £200 I think. Probably be similar this year - but the WHT has yet to be formally launched so can't be certain. Either way, it will be excellent value.

OK, I cave in.

Last year it was 3 heats, a semi, a last chance race and a final. Potentially four races for a sensible entry fee. Garages included and reasonably priced testing.

Probably four heats on the Saturday this year (assuming entries are as strong as expected), with the rest taking place on the Sunday.

What? The RF45 is now back to being an RF90, or you have acquired a new car, or you are doing a downspec job on a Zetec, or

- and this could be very interesting, so please stay with me dear readers -

Are we about to see the first Chevron B38 F3 converted to FF1600 spec. Now don't laugh this idea out of court. It may not be as fanciful as many of you might be thinking. Back in the mid 60s, FF1600 developed out of somebodies idea to stick Ford lumps in old F3 cars.

And before blue nose gets any ideas, 'it has already been done'. The first Dulon was originally a Formula One car.

I was only joking about selling my car although I did think about it as I need to fund a new F3 engine for the Gold Cup. I was going to sell the car and then rent drives for the rest of the season.

Not sure what I am doing as yet. But if someone wanted to offer me a good deal on a new RF90 then I will think about it!!!
