Lister's First Outing

I read that the Lister will enter the Sebring 12hr in March with the new LMP900 contender. Jamie Campbell-Water and Tom Coronel are expected to drive the car.

This is a race to prove the cars potential to the ACO to make sure Lister gets an invite to Le Mans 2003.

The Storm is also expected to run in a few selected rounds or the ALMS next year.

Where have you read this? As far as I know Lister have no plans to race the Storm in ALMS!

Didn't the Lister Storm not pass homologation last time they took a trip to visit the ACO?

Regardless.. it isn't homologated as of yet.

Perhaps the reference is to the LMP?

The Storm definitely isn't ALMS-legal at this moment. With the LMP program on their hands, they won't bother to build an ALMS version either.

The people at Motorsport News reported this one.

Yes it did'nt pass, but i believe that was the evolution version that had more carbon fibre than it should and the exhaust system for one thing was different to the homologated version, and there might have been other problems aswell.

If I remember they went to pre-qualifying in May but were not allowed into the race.

Dave Warnock ran his Storm in the last few rounds of the FIA GT championship, and the rumour mill has it that usual co-driver Mike Jordan has other plans for next year, so maybe that car might venture into FIA GT or the ALMS. Can't see a Storm back at Le Mans though.

David Warnock wants to do FIA next year (don't know if he'll be driving his own car though).

The current Storm isn't ACO-legal, either. Sequential gearchange, too different from the road car.

The Storm GTL is in my opinion one of the most beautiful GT1 ever build, right up there with the Panoz and the 1997 McLaren, even moren in parabolicca colours!

They should talk to Mr Hewland, I'm sure he could supply a non sequential race box.

That should have read, sequential gearchange AND too different from the road car (suspension geometry, engine position, such like - I am told).
