Driver of the SPRINT: Austria 2022

Doesn't count for the predictions contest, but just out of curiosity.

Beau2 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Perez for me. Cracking start. Picked his way through nicely.

Max looked comfortably and unstoppable.

Not much happened, really ... so it's hard to pick someone who did something special.

Perez probably as he's the only one who really advanced a bit?
Most others just took the start and stayed where they were. Sain/Leclerc had a bit of a fight for about a lap but that's all there was to it for the top 4.

I hope tomorrow the race will be significantly better.

Perez with kudos to Mick Schu for doing such a great defensive job to keep Lewis behind him for so many laps.

Mick Schumacher. He did an amazing job, fending off the 7 times WDC Lewis Hamilton for as long as he did. It was great to watch, in what was a rather predictable race. I can't say I'm a fan of these sprint races.

He could, as long as he got DRS from Magnussen in front.
Without it, he would have been passed long before.

There is that but he still managed to hold Hamitlton back for a bit, even after he no longer had DRS from Magnussen.

I can just about muster enough enthusiasm to put Checo down as the DOTS but the format does absolutely zilch for me....

Close call for me between Checo and Mick, on balance I think it was Mick. With both he and Lewis having DRS & thus levelling the playing field somewhat, Mick was able to keep the 7-time champion at bay for quite some time with really good race craft - kudos to him!
