So Vettel came up with one good design once and ditched it for something that is meaningless, and then replaced that over and over again. Great.

What is Vettel's design? He doesn't have one. What is Heidfeld's? Maldonado's? Liuzzi's? Try describing them. There's no design coherence. You can't even tell them apart because the colours are so stochastic.

It's simply a product of being able to knock up a design on a computer, and look at it. Many drivers in the past would have done the same given the opportunity.
